Anyone know if Academy has any plans to release an LIC version? I'd wait for that one if it was in the pipeline.

Looks like a great kit and it is definitely on my "must have" list for 2009!

Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

Hay thanks for the links and info. You know you could just add the ex hatch your self. If the person has the skills to do so, any way I want one. To day I'm ordering the IDF Namer ARV from SQ-Squadron wich is based on the Mk IV or is it realy the Mk. III any way I'm going to build that here as well. I have no need to buy a book on it as there's so much info & photos online I think I may just be able to have a realy good project.
IDF Namer ARV First version and secend version.

An the resin kit:

These images are of the APC version, An also has bean called the Merkava Mk. IV BAZ Namer LIC.

Sorry Captin, but I'm going to correct you again. The first two pics you posted are proto-types of a Merkava based ARV. The third pic is a shot of the Namer Fitter GP, but again it's a proto-type based on a Merkava Mk. 3. On top of that the pic is also a photo-shopped fake. Here is the original, taken from Michael Mass's book on the Merkava Mk. 3
http://www.idf-in-scale.com/forum/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=1411
The last two photos you posted are of the production Namer APC based on the Merkava 4. There is no "Merkava IV Namer BAZ LIC", as I mentioned earlier the BAZ designation is for the Mk. 3's FCS (fire control system), since the Namer has no main gun it has no need for a FCS. LIC is the abbreviation for Low Intensity Combat. LIC modifications are what is done to protect parts of a vehicle from being damaged, by say a kid throwing a rock at the gunsight, as an example. It's not a vehicle designation.

Mike

Purchased on e-bay so I guess it's on it's way from the supplier once it's released

Paying is included in "on the way" isn't it ?

BTW: The seller says nothing about a release date, so I guess he's got them....

Well, I for one am looking forward to this one as it is far more affordable than the Legend releases, although I would love some of those as well! "Q"

Hi,

I have seen the kit on the MMzone.co.kr website in their review and the turret top has a plate to put on next to the commander's hatch where the loader would stand and I think it is
possible that it is there they will put the loaders hatch should they consider the LIC version.

Legend do an update LIC set.

Thanks, Mike..

Unfortunately we don't have Pay-Pal in Egypt.. I can only deal with sites that accept the usual credit cards. I was hoping for the link for the store in S. Korea.. maybe they take credit cards.

Thanks again

Hello
Don't put too much hope on the academy's tracks, they looks very thin on the photos.
Will an aftermarket company do an accurate set? It will be nice for both Legend's and academy's kits.
The academy's turret looks more accurate from sides views , this kits isn't perfect but it's looks a very good and cheap option... but still need new tracks.

Dear Stephan,
thank you for pointing out this issue with the tracks, I would not have noticed it. Still, they can save you many weeks of pain. It would be ideal if Friul relaesed a new set, PLEASE...

Hi Capt.,

I think you have it slightly wrong. The Baz version has only one hatch in the turret and the LIC version has two. The IDF added the additional hatch due to the expeiences in the 2006 conflict in Lebanon.
On the latest Legend release of the Merkava 4 LIC there are two hatches, the loaders hatch is is not round but slighty oval.

The Academy Merkava 4 kit the turret has a plate numbered 6 on the sprue that you add to the top of the turret adjacent to the commander's hatch to make the BAZ version, or either they can produce an LIC model or you can convert the turret to a LIC version. Legend apparently produced a LIC update kit to be used to update the Academy Kit with the heavier side skirts and photo etch for the sights, exhaust systems etc..
