Hey guys,
I posted this on ML, thought I'd give it a shot here too:
In the past I've donated some kits for care packages to be sent to US troops in the big sandbox. Is anyone aware of similar schemes in the UK? I know of one, but their package was sent out before I could contribute...
Thanks,
Olaf

Hi Olaf,
Good idea. We started collecting car packages for the troops in our local branch of the Royal British legion. When we had amassed a small mountain of them we were informed that the Posties could not handle them, so wee refusing to take them.
If you are going to organise such a scheme make sure that you can get the stuff out there!
Good luck,
Paul M.

Olaf and Paul
I just missed a news item on TV today (Wednesday). The SAS actor who spent time with the guys in Afghanistan, (One of the ‘Mitchell Bros’ on East Enders?) is organising a Christmas box for the Squaddies. These are to go in empty 1 man Ration Pack Boxes. They fit in OK with the standard packing of aircraft and will be transferred by the regular RAF supply trips. Does anyone have any further info?
Sorry I have no further info.
Gary

Yes, that's the guy. I keep scanning the commercial channels to find it again. It was not on SKY. I will give you all a shout if it pops up again.
Please let me know if anyone else sees it before it is too late to send stuff.

Just found this:

Is that what people are referring to? Not sure how we'd be able to contribute yet...
