Hey Mathew, sorry that I read your message not earlier. Thanks for your nice comment!
Hmm, itīs not easy for me to make a dio like this drawing. Several times I changed some parts and had new ideas. Also it was the first dio.
But I hope to get a "lonely" scene finally.

Hello to all, one more small update.
Again I covered the dio with a bit "snow". But I think, I will stop this soon.
Iīve built one of the 2 wooden boxes, which I want to place in the dio. Paerhaps I made a mistake while building the box, but they are very nice kits and easy to build.
I will add a last snow-covering later.
Also one of the wheels broke away and... so itīs better to finish this.
I hope to have better luck with my other 3 landscapes and the "things", standing on them.
greetings...

So, Iīve completed "snowing the landscape".
Now itīs happened. The wheel is broken off.
... with boxes in the snow ...
... after the snow has fallen ...
and a big version (1,77Mbytes)

Iīve added more pictures.
overview, including the gun
details...
Hmm... I will see, how to fix the gun.
Originally Iīve planned to remove the parts on the gun. (tools, measuring rods, etc)
Comments are welcome. ;-)

WOW, Soeren, the wooden box looks superb!! That is one really nice addition to the scene. How did you make it? I also like the grass you've added as it loos the part. Really nice progress on this.
From my side, I'll have to put a hold on the sFH 18 as I messed up on the right trail arm trying to fit the Voyager set which, in my opinion, is complete crap! I had to sand off various features off the arm just to find out that the PE items, in the end, were really over/under sized and that most of the pieces were basically ficticious. It's too bad as usually prefer Voyager sets. Oh well, I'll see if I can just move on with the build or just put it aside and use it as spares when I get to the other two Dragon sFH18s still waiting on the shelf.
Nice progress on this!!

Hi Rob (and all other readers) ;-)
the box is a kit, made by "Peddinghaus-decals". I saw the kit (consists of 2 boxes) on an exhibtition. I didnīt expected, to get one. ;-)
Itīs a laser-etched/ burned/ cutted kit, wich has a "real" look! Better than my plastic-version, which I started to build.
I used superglue (no cyanoacrylate) to glued the box within minutes! WOW!
Also I think it looks very nice, although the text is covered by snow.
But this is the "lonely" effect, which I tried to reach. Iīm very surprised with the scene!
The grass is partly visible, the leaves not. But thatīs okay. ;-)
Overall this gives a nice color-difference to the scene.
Hmm, on my trail-arms I thought about removing the tools only, not replace them with other metal-parts.
I still wait for Dragonīs "s10cm K18" which was announced for one year ago.
Perhaps then i will build my Atlantikwall-dio ... and perhaps including some figures.
There is a good picture on Acemodelīs webpage.

Nice work on the dio soeren! I can imagine that to create a diorama with snow is a real challenge... And I like very much the idea of the dio without any figures. I'm a fan of left-alne and abandonned gear dios. The flora you bought looks great on the dio.
Keep it up!

Good looking gun Soeren, you might want to paint the breech block a silver color/tone since there'd be no paint in there! hehe
Regards, Paul
EDIT Sorry when I posted I didn't realize you were adding snow, so might not be possible to paint the breech?

Thanks Paul, at first my idea for the breechblock was a darker tone. (not white-washed)
Also I have to glue the broken wheel onto the gun.

Yea too bad you broke the wheel.....one small tip you might consider, sprinkle some snow on top of the brush, bushes etc and let some of the green show through.
I'm working on a gun scene as well....PAK 40 and Warriors crew.
I will post some pics when I can (don't have a Digital camera at the moment)

Hello to all;
now some pictures - made some weeks ago. Since then, I made no work on the gun, but on my other projects.
On the lower picture, some parts of my other project can be seen.
Hi Paul, thanks for your tip with the snow.
I will see, what I can improve, but I didnīt planned any "bigger" changes on the dio.
Also I have a completed "build-story", which I want to publish here.
greetings and thanks...

update:
I tried to glue the broken wheel.
Also I painted some parts of the barrel, but made no corrections, which were planned at first.
(remove or paint the tools)
Today again I added the gun to its diorama and finally I filled the space of the earth-spades with "earth".
