There is a photoshopped posting over on myconfinedspace.com of the T72 chassis based arty with the over and under barrel arrangement showing several sets of barrels side by side.
I cant for the life of me remember the designation of the real vehicle or track down an image.
Lil' help?

Aww man!! That is the coolest thing I ever seen!!!!! Imagine if the Rissians actually fielded that as a MBT. I mean, it'd be really slow and un-manouverable, but if you got hit with a shell from it you'd be toast!

It is billed as an artillery piece, not a tank. It has been shown before. Personally, I don't see the advantage or how it is better than just a single barrel. For one, both barrels can't be fired at the same time. How would you keep your position constant with the two barrels? One would knock the other out of battery and you would have to correct for drift between each round. From a pure gunnery stance, it would be real PITA. I think it is really just a Russian pipe dream though, not anything we will actually see. It looks cool, but would be pretty useless if you ask me.

That thing reminds me of all the vehicles on that old TV series "Thunderbirds".

I just think it looks cool. Yeah, its impractical, too heavy, and underpowered for something that large, but it would make a great modeling sugestion. Are there any 1:35 scale kits of this thing?

Here is what I wrote in the previous thread:
It is not necessarily a new technology as much as combining several modern ones to make something new. The "boxer" system allows the recoil of one tube to help power/setup the other and also lessens the recoil on the frame. With the Autoloader, it can lay down swift FFE's...but I am not sure if they have gone to a 1 piece shell or 2...I am assuming 2, but the Russkies and their artillery tend to be...innovative and devious.
The key component is a crewless turret and two barrels per chassis with the autoloader, making it a very dangerous foe. Wether or not it will be as effective as it seems is another matter. It is a land adaption of a Naval warfare requirement, not initially started for land use. Russians often tend to overlap land artillery/coastal defence/ship main armaments.
It is also supposed to be built on the "not yet seen T-95" chassis, so if any kit company makes a T-95 (HA!) then they can go to this easy.
Nothing has changed. So far, no procurements have been made. There are hints that this may be a pure coastal defence vehicle that the Russkies have been doing some "disinformation" with, for fun.
Gino, this thing is supposed to work pretty well. Basically, it would double rounds fired down range in less than a second, as is still supposed to be "shoot and scoot" capable, if you believe the hype. I suppose if the Russians sank a lot of Rubles into it, it could be. But since it is based on the "T-95" hull, and we have not yet seen that monster, this may come to naught as well.
