Anybody have a source or know some techniques for jungle foilage? I'm working on a Japnese 97 and I'd like to put it in something other than volcanic ash....

I've looked at aquarium plants and while they are a possibility, they just seem not quite right (if you can have that in a 1/35th jungle). Even a good source of palm trees would help.

Check out the Splash Gallery - My Charlie Fox has some easy cheap custom foliage.
I'm in the middle of writing an article about how to make it. I've got the text but need to redo a couple of photos.
If you want the text I can email it to you. Just PM me and give me your email address.

I'll email the file to whomever else would like it also. Trying to get it together for a Feature Article.

I have several tricks, depending on what plant you are trying to imatate... for jungle broad leaf, i use CYPRESS FERNS... they look just like a palm-tree frond, but are in perfect scale. Just paint the the color green you need. There is also and excellent FEATURES /DIORAMAS article (by demodelbower?) on making Palm Trees and another by GeneralFailure on making tree trunks from wire... both are very top notch articles - here are the links.

When you need ferns, you can use a plant that's called Asparagus Plumosa. Charles King (Callsign Ti) used it to make pine trees... just take a look :
