Jack, Jack Kerouac is one of my favourites also (I love it when you could tell when he started to.....oh, never mind). I've read almost all of Castenada's books (back in the late '70's), and Pound's 'Cantos' was required reading in my childhood parochial school.
Have you read Campbell's opinion of Pound's use of myth regarding civilization?
