Hey guys

I just put some pics up of a dio I completed about 2 months ago. Its my first dio ever, and am overall pleased with my effort. Yes there are some historical inaccuracys, but since this was my first attempt I wanted to try out new techniques and methods. First time ever: using washes, drybrushing, painting figures, first ever tank, first etc etc.....

Well here it is, please provide me with any comments, criticism, suggestions, etc etc

*I tried active linking it, but couldn't, sorry you'll have to cut and paste.

Thanks to all for your help when I had questions, couldnt have done it without your great help.

PS: Pics were taken in my kitchen, and I do plan to make a proper base for the dio.

Very, very nice. Really like those winter scenes when done well. There's a whole lot more work to them than a person first thinks there would be. I would venture to say that winter scenes are probably harder to do that other seasons of the year.

Take care, sgirty.

An excellent dio. Love the snow in the trees. The tank and men look great.

Cheers

Wow. That is fantastic for a first time using those techniques.
Snow is so hard to do, and harder to make look good. I have never tried, but it seems a lot of folks tend ot overdue it when 'less is more.' I especaily like the mud on that one troop's pants. Looks like he slid down a hill.
All you need now is some smoke from the armor's exhaust and cold breathe coming from the troops.

That shot with the landscape is a beaut.

Definately a lovely dio, and not one that would come under beginners efforts. So many things attempted and done well. I epecially love the track marks attention. The way that tracks have already passed and slightly covered again and the tracks behind the tank are fresher. The scene looks nice and is well composed. I wwould suggest a nice base for this to hide the edges and how its built up at the back. It definately is a dio worthy of a base, and it would only improve on it!

That is a good diorama. Snow is a challenge and you pulled it off very well. The poses and 'stories' are done well, theres a lot there and it's easy to follow.

I would like to offer one small comment. The base could use a 'frame'. I think a nicely stained frame would really make this diorama shine. You could easily to it either by
1. going and getting a bit of molding and cutting 45 degree angles at the corners and gluing them on.
2. getting an inexpensive picture frame where the glass part is just the same size as the base. All you do is add some epoxy and sit it in.

Very nice job.
