Hello.
I post some pictures of my railway diorama, hoping you enjoy.
I think it will be finished in a couple of months.
The main subject is the WR 360 C14 diesel loco (CMK resin & photoetched kit with scratchbuilding of the cabin).
Ciao, Sante
OVERALL SCENE
The scene consists of a background building (modified Royal Model kit), of the main railway track (with the loco), and of a Mig crane.
Many details are still missing.

wow...that's impressive.
i really like the building and the weathering. looks very old.
just an idea...mayb leave out teh figure. i think it would look very erie (eerie sp? ) to just have the deisel loco hangin out in an old, dark, empty railway station. kinda gives my the creeps. dunno y tho haha
keep it up...looks awesome!!!

Thanks for the comments. The scale is 1/35.
About the figure, you are right and probably it will be put outside the loco.
You are also right about the poorly commented pictures. I'm preparing an english version of the work-in-progress (with more than 500 pictures taken during the project).
I'll be back when the diorama is completed.
Ciao, Sante

Great job man!
I have a good question. Did you scratch the loco's running gear, or, did you grab it off a different model? Either way, it looks awesome. That cab is coming out great!
Can't wait to see that roof all weathered and mossed.

Hi Sante,
Excellent work! I look forward to more.
Sante & Dave, stop by KitMaker's railroad forum: RailroadModeling. Tell your friends, too. I would be happy to put your diorama on the site.
Here's a good diorama (a.k.a., layout): Bluff City Southern
And here's some shots of a vintage diesel: Nevada Northern Railway ALCO RS-2 No.105
Enjoy!

Hi.
Here are some more pictures reporting the current status of the WR360C14 diorama.
The loco is almost complete. I'm painting and weathering the internal part of the cabin.
The scene has received the rails, a spare (rusty) axle, some grass (to be painted), a set
of abandoned drums, a birds nest. Anyway, it is not yet complete and I'm working on some more
details.

Excellent so far Sante. Really nice composition capturing the WR360, but not letting its size overpower the scene. Love the rusty colours used on the building the debris. Looking forward to more updates.

Hello, here is Some more update of the loco diorama.
Three drums have been covered.
The bicycle (Tamiya + Aber) has been completed and will be located close to the drums.
Some tools have been put in a wooden box which probably is going to be located on the crane
circular base.

Hello.
I've completed the scratch-building of the cabin and I'm proceeding
with painting and weathering of the loco.
Currently I'm applying the filters and global/local washes with
Windsor & Newton oil colors (Burnt Umber, Raw Umber, Lamp Black and
various combinations of the three colors).
Here is a sequence of the last phases.
The bicycle is being painted in yellow, which is not properly a 'military'
tone, but helps to vreate some variation in the overall scene.

Hello and thanks for the encouraging comments.
Some more progress on the loco painting/weathering. The work to be done is on
some paint chipping and some more pigments (especially on the 'walking' areas).
Till now, I proceeded in the following way:
- Base color, for priming: Tamiya German Grey (XF-63).
- Two-tone camouflage, 1st step: Hobby Color Dark Yellow (H-403) and Olive Green (H-405).
- Two-tone camouflage, 2nd step: Hobby Color Dark Yellow (H-403) and Olive Green (H-405)
mixed to Tamiya Flat Yellow (XF-3) and air brushed to create contrasts in the respective
camouflage areas.
- Filters with Windsor & Newton oil colors (Burnt Umber, Raw Umber, Lamp Black and various
mixes among them).
- Drybrush with a mix obtained from Windsor & Newton Titanium White and Yellow Ochre.
I'm trying to create chromatic variations by adding localised 'rust' effects and I also
added some visibility markings (white).

The loco has reached its final location!!
Missing things are, at least:
- the bicycle,
- the figure,
- weathering of the rails,
- some more intervention on the loco.
