Very nice! The only thing I can think of to make it even more better than it is is to put on some paint chips and maybe some rust.

Excellent variation in the dunklegelb and fantastic job overall. The tracks are very glossy in some of the pictures. I have mixed feelings about the primer travel lock. Considering all the work you put into this, I recommend spending a couple more bucks and adding etch screens to the engine intakes and outflows. Paint them up, test fit, and if you like the look, glue them down. You would not have to redo any of your finished work.
Great job!

Doug,
The vehicle is representing a Brand new vehicle that hasn't seen combat (straight off the train from the factory). For the C/O's inspection.
There is Surface rust on the travel lock and tools and the vehicle is painted to show very mild weathering from German rain and Italian sunshine.
The painted Fruilmodel tracks are just shiny from the camera flash.
At that stage in the war, the Germans were only putting grilles on the Ostfront vehicles as there was very little threat of Italians putting explosives into the engine compartments.
The Panther Ausf D "Kursk" that i'm doing now has Aftermarket Fan Grilles on it.

Dont know why but this photo reminds me of hellboy.
Nice work on your panthers
What base color did you use on your panther D as it looks kind of like a beige color?
Keep up the good work.

i love the washy look on the armor! just one thing...the exhaust pipes looked a little so coppery goldish. maybe try getting a more flat, orange look with brow stains and some black at the end.
looks great though!

Hi Karl and Andrew,
the primer i use is Red Oxide(just like the real vehicles) car primer , it shows up the weld seams on the model underneath the XF60 dark yellow base coat and gives it depth and defination. The "Martian Army Hellboy" Panther D is one of many kits i've prepped this way.
I'm still practicing with exhaust pipes, I use tamiya gold with washes of brown/ redbrown acrylic to give it them impression that the paint has burnt off the exhaust pipes.
I will try oranges to calm it down and some soot.
I prefer my models to look new rather than bashed war weary ones that everyone seems to do, so they're clean and not all hidden with mud and crew's kit.
I will state the pics don't do them justice.

Cheers Ant,
I've got a few more on the bench, but doing other projects as not to get bored of Panthers.

Couple of nice looking Panthers you've got there! Tracks are a little too 'new' for me, even though you mentioned going for a 'newish' look, I'd figure the tracks would be a little more worn. No worries though, you've done a nice job with them.
Thanks for sharing! Cheers -

HI All,
Thanks for All the positive comments.
The panther is the earlier dragon kit, I have the premium kit as well on the production line.
The cobblestones i made myself out of Milliput ,it was the baseboard for my Churchill Crocodile, which is being re done and repainted.
The tracks don't look that shiny in reality, just must have been the camera flash, i can't change the direction of the flash unfortunately.

Hi Ant,
Its kit number 6160, not sure of its age, i used the plastic armour side skirts on the Panther D as they look good even compared with the metal ones from the Premium kit.
I've have started the Panther D Zimmeritt kit aswell, that has metal skirts and a aluminum barrel in the box.

Cheers Ant , thanks for those kind words.
I've got a fair few Dragon Panthers and Jagdpanthers on the buildline Including two panther Gs to replace my tamiya Versions.
The one G has some missing parts and i've been waiting a month for dragoncare to return my emails
Today i've been working on some brit Armour - a stuart Honey and a pair of Shermans.
I'll start Highlighting the Panther D sooon.

I wouldn't waste your time with Dragoncare Matt it seems they tend to ignore the UK and Europe with regards to your missing parts you should put out a cry for help you never know maybe one of the guys on here might have just what you're after in his/her spares box

Matt, kudos on the "newish" look!!! I'll agree with you on the trend for war weary stuff. I end up doing a lot of it for my customers, but for my own builds I've been going for the road dirt-traveled look as opposed to beat and battered.

Cheers for that, I hoped they would be spares in the other Dragon kits, they do like to put whole sprues of spares in their kits!
They must have been asleep to miss a whole stug 3 hull out of the kit

Hi Ed,
I Guess i'm trying to build a 1/35th scale tank museum/ collection ,nice clean vehicles in good condition just for my cabinet.
I do realise tanks attract mud like small children ( think Shep paine said that).
I'll eventually get some MIG and Vallejo paints and do a Dirty Warry tank.( I'd have to build a diorama then).
Matt
