Well, that's nice news from the lizard. Good thing I included the M55 in my M16 MGMC photo detail CD.

after the excellent job they did with the M16 this is a natural progression, and ideal for some one who just wanted the turret.
cheers

Well, now people can do those Quad gun trucks from Nam right.
My thought exactly.

Gawd - I hope I'm not the only one stoked about this Dragon release!
I can see buying and building a half-dozen before even thinking about it. Very cool news (to me) Dragon!

Now I am just waiting for an M1 40mm AG to be released.

Nice. I have the Azimut generator trailer that the M55 often was mated with. Cool!

Terrific! We don't have nearly enough Allied AAA. Maybe, just maybe, we'll get a 90mm someday!

Wow! I was hoping DML'd do this!! Yeah, you said it, Gary --- my M548 and M35A1 Vietnam era gun track and gun truck are both going to be on the receiving end of this release. Nice box art, too.
Dragon will sure get a lot of mileage out of this kit!! Great news. Wonder what the price point will be...?

might have to get myself two of these, one to build and the other to replace the gun turret in the old tamiya M-16 i've got in my stash.

Hi All,
I haven't a clue how accurate it would be (I've not seen any pics anywhere or even heard of it mentioned) but the quad gun mount would look really good on the foredeck of the Italeri PT boat!
I suppose a lot of crews 'found' some non issue weapons for their boats, but maybe this would be a bit heavy.

Just to nitpick, the M45 is the turret. The 4-wheel trailer was the M17 (a modification of the M7 generator trailer), while the specifically designed 2-wheel trailer was the M20.
M17 + M45 = M51 Multiple Machine Gun Carriage
M20 + M45C = M55 Multiple Machine Gun Carriage

Indeed should be intereasting to slap one of these on the back of an M35 to recreate famous guntrucks like Nancy, Bounty Hunter,Easy Rider,Little Respect, Widow maker and many more
The Sprue shots look very promising It should be intereasting on how it turns out

Good to something a bit different from DML - although I really do wish they'd release a crew with it instead of making us wait a year for them to think maybe we need one... really excited about the prospects of the crew though...

Be great to see Vietnam War, Korean War and WWII era crews for the same kit!
Anyone know how much it will cost yet?

Isn't there a Chilean, (Venezuelan, Peruvian?) M8 or M20 with one of these mounted inside?
Also a Turkish M113 with one?

The Colombians fielded M8s with the M45 turret replacing the standard turret, along with the engine upgrade developed by NAPCO. The also fielded a variant with a TOW missile launcher.
I believe you're right about the Turks and their M113s with M45 turrets, but I think the Pakistanis and Lebanese (who also fitted the M113 w/ ZU-23-2s) also used configurations similar to this. I could easily be wrong.
