this has probably been done or subjected before but would anyone be interested in a campaign based on vehicles from the big and small screen things like the Humvees from generation kill or the t-55 based tiger from saving private Ryann?

Sounds interesting Scott but would the vehicles being modelled have to look exactly like the vehicles as they appear in the TV/Movie they're from? For example the Tiger From Saving Private Ryan would one have to get the T-55 kit and then modify it to look like a Tiger or could one simply get a Tiger kit and do it in the same markings as the one from Private Ryan ?

Hi
Like the idea, there are plenty of great films out there that could be used for this campaign. I hope this 1 gets enough interest.

Just some FYI the Saving Private Ryan Tiger was built on a T34 not a T55. There are scenes in the movie where you can clearly see the T34 waffle tracks. It would have looked better if it had been because it would have had the center mounted turret, like an actual tiger, instead of the forward mounted on like on the T34.

Also if anyone is actually going to build the SPR Tiger there is a write up provided in the link below.

Hi
I'm in the Model Shipwright's Hollywood at Sea campaign , that's finishing in about a month.
That's the only hollywood campaign that I know of.

My bad would still be an interesting conversion for someone to try ? I know there is a T 55 based tiger that dose the rounds in the uk along with a FV 432 based stug.

If there is enough interest i will knock out some parameters for the campaign how about seen it on the screen for a campaign title?

Hi
I'm thinking that I'd do something from either 1 of these, the trouble is which ?.
Kelly's Heroe's
Sahara (Humphry Bogart )
Anzio
The Longest Day
Battle of the Bulge
A Bridge too Far.
As the vehicles wouldn't have to be 100% accurate only Hollywood accurate lol.
I hope this gets the thumbs up.

I like Kelly's Hero's and the back end of what ever the German tank was ( I will have to view the movie again) with a paint shot would look great. Maybe Meatballs sherman with the rest of the Gypsy's under their vermillon colored tent, or comming out of the train tunnel. HA!

I like the idea. In fact I'm just getting ready to put paint on a T34/Tiger from Kelly's Heroes. Would that qualify?

Well, you're 0 for 2. The M1 mock ups used in "Courage Under Fire" were built off of Austrailian Centurions.

Nearly right then i am trying to find pictures of them can any one help?

I just dug out the DVD to watch the paint shot scene. If you look close you can see where they actually shot the tiger with the paint round. It dented one of the exhaust covers. Way cool!!!

I think im going with Full Metal Jacket and be really inaccurate and use M41's just like the flim .

I will have the M41 parked up with the commnder hanging out the hatch and have G.I's behind it in support.

Btw are single figures allowed?
