I love this range of figures - with a bit of work they can be turned into pretty good representations of grunts in the field, not just straight out movie characters.
Demchemko's done an excellent job of rendering these figures as precise miniatures of the 'platoon' cast, right down to the things the costume department got wrong.
I can see the reasoning behind this - they're representations of the film's characters and should capture all of those details.
Anyone wanting a decent selection of generic grunts will find there are very few mods needed to turn them away from 'Hollywood Vietnam' - lose the USMC first aid kits (for Army types), maybe change out the heads, swap those long barreled M16/XM177 carbines (Elias/Barnes figures) for more period weapons and you're away...
I like this new release, he's a good represntation of Rhah.
Doesn't need much to grunt him up - but that stick has got to go...

Thanks,guys!
Really, starting that series I get great dilemma...Making Platoon characters or make "correct" grunts by Platoon motiffs...And I choosed "100%" Platoon.Me,like many another modellers,is great fan of this movie, with all those mistakes and non-accuracy moments.During long time I collected matherials about Platoon and discovered all licks and veterans and experts opinions (about USMC first aid pouches, wrong version of M16,ARVN rucksack, haircuts, knives,"cat eyes" etc).
It`s just my little tribute for famous film, and I`m sure many modellers want to have Barnes,Rhah and Taylor no less, than figures of standard grunts.
Anyway,NAM theme do n`t stop on Platoon series and will be continue with real (non Hollywood) grunts, specials and marines!
Warmly

Vald, what about Full metal jacket figures keeping with the hollywood theme?
OR some Us snipers or some marines actually in the firing position instead of hanging around with the rifles in the right arms?

Awesome work, as always, Vladi!
Are you planning on sculpting the entire cast from the film? How many more figures to go? Lots to look forward to! Keep up the great work!
Regards and Aloha,
Johnny B.

I guess I'll have to add this one to my "to do" list.
Small wonder a certain other company isn't doing very these days, with figures of this quality competing against them.
