Hi guys,
Did this conversion almost 4 years ago now? Base kit is a DML A Early backdated to a D hull with Modelkasten roadwheels. Thet urret is the fantastic Chesapeake Models Designs BeoB w Dummy Gun. What a great conversion turret! Came with turned barrel, many details. Because it was moulded hollow, I took the oppertunity to scratch build a partial turret interior for it. items of note are the periscope and rangefinder hanging from the ceililng. PE came from Eduard and the one fender extention was scratch built. Also used were the Fug 7 (IIRC) from Tiger Models Designs. Tracks from Fruilmodel of course To top it off, the driver and RO are from Royal Models, and the commander from Tristar.
Hope thats not to many pics
Enjoy!
Matt

Very nice work Matt, have you considered sending in a feature of this build to Armorama?

That is a really nice looking tank you've got there Matt! nice work mate!
By the way, can you tell me the purpose of this Panther (on the battle field that is). Would it be a command tank, communications tank, or something else?

Hi Guys,
Darren, please check you rPM I've asked you a question offline there.
Dean, the Beob Panther was supposed to b ean armored mobile artillery support vehicle, providing range coordinants, fire control etc to the mobile artillery. Never panned out though, the brass wouldn't let a valuable Panther chassis be used for something without a gun!
Lyndon and Ant, thanks guys! Ant, give your Beo a go, I'm sure it will come out great. Make sure to post pics here too when you do build it.
Thanks again gents,
Matt

Thanks Tim and Martin!
Thanks Jeff, the judges at AMPS slammed me on it for not having a floor, even though I noted it as having a PARTIAL turret interior. Actually, I did scratch a floor for the turret, but at the 11th hour found misalignments that would have required too much work to correct before leaving for Md.
Thanks all for taking the time to comment!

Hi Patrick,
Simple really.
1. Base coat with Tamiya Silver (brightest I've seen, bu ta bit of a bear to hand paint)
2. Paint the outside flat black. (if painted thinly, will look like some wear on the edges)
3. Paint the areas that are supposed to be glass with Tamiya Clear green. Multiple coats will mean darker green.
Thanks for asking... rock on!
Matt
