Sorry but here's my question. I've read the article in this months FSM on the M1 Abrams tank, and applied that wash to my Bradley and for the first time it came out wonderful! Now that was in a Desert color, do you use the same burnt or raw umber color to a olive drab vechicle or is their another color that you guys have used? Thanks for any advice Scott

I just this afternoon applied a wash of Payne's Gray to my M48A3 (OD) and M60A2 (Winter Verdant MERDC). I really like this, as it's a neutral color and does little to tint the base colors, like wearing gray sunglasses.

:-) Although I don't model armour I use oil paint for washes and use Burnt Umber for desert camouflaged aircraft. For Grey aircraft I will use Warm Grey (it has a brown tint to it) a smidge of Burnt Umber and Black and/or White for the final colour, this will lean towards Grey. For British Dark Green and Dark Earth Camo I add Madder Brown or replace the Burnt Umber with Madder Brown. Oil paints will give you a wide range of tones but I would stear clear of black. For Olive Drab try Burnt Umber, a touch of Yellow Ochre and Warm Grey. You can also get some unexpected results with oil colours :-)
