Adam,
I was following your build on Planet Armor- it looks great, and what an interesting subject.
Great work on the bar armor too.

Hello again, it's a relief that you guys like it. I know that this could be done much better, but with my lack of patience it was a battle. I had to drill over 400 holes in a plastic sheet to create dose support beams for wire. After spraying base color my airbush declined cooperation (3rd time in a year) and i couldn't play with shading and color modulation. Also that was my first real time with mig pigments.
Here are some wip pictures:

soon i will start wip relation of Caterpillar D9R, version. I will use plastic toy that i bought at toys'r'us (no clue about the scale) and i will scratch build everything else.

Very nice!

The bars look a bit too thick and consequently the numbers of bars don't match reference pics I have (for instance 13 in the right hand front corner instead of 14) but that's kind of unavoidable if you want to keep things reasonably sturdy.

Congratulations for a great model!

Cheers,

Christophe

Hi Barthass, yes i have finally decided, after a year of looking and thinking. There will be a couple of wip that i will post over here, and of course couple of them will be from "yours" areas of interest.

Hello Christophe, yes you are right about bars (thickness and number of them), but when i tried to do correct number of them, i have found that the "fence" is too big (tall) and when i have changed distance between them, they where just to close to each other. So i had to make so compromise.
The biggest problem, that it really pushed my patience where tracks. I have bought single link tracks from AVF and those little pins between main links, God that was annoying.

Very nice work. That looks like a tough challenge and you executed it brilliantly. Might have been easier to make one of those bars though and cast them in resin. Although I have no experience in that it was just a thought.

Hello
Christophe is right i have used floral wire, comes in straight pieces and very easy to bend and cut (nail clippers are the best for that job).
