This is the Tamiya M4A3E2 Jumbo. Weathered with pastels. Still need to add the figures and stowage. Will probably replace the tracks one day as well. Paint job was done using play dough as a masking agent.

Oh, Lord! Talk to me. Did you apply the salt to this one also? What is your prime and subsequent colors. Weatherings look very nice.
thanks

Looking good. Is this OOB? I have one in the box but the impression I got was it wasn't worth building without spending $100.00 on aftermarket crap. Yours looks good to me.

No salt. Gray oil paint thinned down and applied with a brush.
The base coat was night black followed by black witha bit of gray added. That was post faded onto the larger center areas. The play dough was applied and then a mix of some olive drab was applied, which was then lightened with Tamiya buff and applied to the centers of the panels.
Weathering consisted of a filter (extremely diluted wash) of burnt umber and white oils. A wash of black was applied to several areas (but not many). Pastel powders were then used for the dust on the lower hull.

Mostly out of box. I boxed in the sponsons and added periscope guards from lead wire and superglue. A bit of styrene here and there but no purchased aftermarket items. I also retextured the turret and transmission hump using a mix of squadron green and liquid cement. Not a bad kit actually.

It looks great pcmodeler. In kits like Tamiya I think that OOB building with a little of extra work and some scratchbuilding you can make real nice looking kits like this one.
The weathering looks very convincing. Did you add the extra armor in the transmison cover ?(in the kit it only comes the front glacis plate extra armor).
Realy nice

Great work... Tanks for sharing. Just curiuos about the color type sequence (i.e. acryl, enamel, wash...).

Very cool, makes me want to jump in and start building mine. I've always thought the Jumbo had a really neat heft to it.

I think it just looks that way because I took off the front fenders as well as the retexturing.
This was actually my first Sherman. I have one of the Italeri Shermans on order. It will probably be here today. I'll be curious to see how it compares. Hopefully my DML track will fit on that one, as it won't work on this one without using the drive wheels, etc.

I only use acrylics for painting and artists oils for washes. Acrylics consist of Tamiya, Polly Scale and Model Master Acryl.
It was painted in acrylic, followed by an oil filter and wash, followed by an acrylic flat coat followed by the pastels. I do not clear coat pastels as that ruins the whole affect.

Great looking Shermie Mark Good use of pastels in the weathering and the finish looks bang on.
Your DML tracks will fit the Italeri kit with no problems or modifications.

Nice build like the faded paint job...I was just wondering if Tamyia have fixed the kit by adding a new transmission housing in the re-issue? Can't tell from the angle of the pictures you took ...That was the one of the big mistakes in the kit.
Keep up the good work .

Nice clean build. I like the weathering and the weather worn look.
