This is the old Testors/Italeri kit. I kind of suck at figures but am working on it. Overall, it came out well though.

That`s a nice scene you have got there and the paintjob is very good too. I have one question though in my opinion your sidespan is pointing too much upwarths as you can see in this picture:

the sidecar lies a bit more horizontal.
I built the same one a couple of years ago

and here also the sidecar lies a bit more horizontal..
Other then this nitpicks from me you have quite a good vignette there

Nuts. Your right. It looks like it broke after I applied it to the base, as I can see I had it glued in the proper position. Going to have to see if I can fix that. Thanks for catching that....

Beautiful, Mark. That is just the type of subject matter I love to model...a main subject with a couple of figures set off on a nice show-piece base. Really well done. The weathering on the bike is very nice. I am currently working on the Tamiya 88, and the bike included in that kit is not coming out as good as yours (back to the drawing board). As for your figures, I don't know what you think you need to improve. I only hope mine get to look that good someday.

Very well done, sir.

I think it came out well - for an old Testors/Italeri. Work with what you've got.

I know your building your figure skills and I'd like to offer a couple of things. The positioning of the figures can make a difference. The guy standing could be worked into the dirt a bit more. He seems to hover a bit.
The seam on the drivers should could use a spot of putty to help blend or soften the seam line.
And don't forget tire tracks.

I think it came out well you can be happy with this one. Afterall it started off Testors/Italeri .

Ah, don't be like that. Testors/Italeri did some great kits in the late 70s (Leopard 1, M-47, Puma, Sherman).

Mark, did you do any extra detailing to the bike like brake cables, fuel lines, etc.? I've always wanted to try something like that on a little motocycle.

Yeah, he does hover a bit. The problem was that I didn't press the figure into the base material prior to it drying.

I really need to work on painting faces. I have a real problem doing it effectively with acrylics. I'd prefer to use oils, but since I kind of hate doing figures, I never spend the time I should. Heck, I think it takes longer to do a figure properly than it does to build an entire tank.

Good show - I've never modeled one of these little motorcycles before (other than DML's modern one). Wonder if they're "fun"...

I don't think it did come with any Afrika markings. Can't remember for sure.

As for detail, it is out of box except for the bedroll on the back of the sidecar. Fuel lines and such would have been nice.
