With the complex structure of Modern vehicle Netting it''s not simply a question of looking thru fabric stores looking for something that ''might'' fit the bill. Now, Echelon Fine Details have come up with an innovative proposition. The full report along with images of what could be a very iinovative product, can be seen:

I made be a tad unrealistic, but I want this in 1/72 Braille Scale!!

Of course, if I breathed on it the netting would likely disintegrate!!

The piece on the Leopard 2 was about one-third of the actual size (slightly stretched of course). Would you like to make a guess? ;-)

Jeff, as usual small-scale always pose great challenges to any producer because we're always talking about nano-level. Until technology improves, I'm afraid I have to disappoint the Braillers for the time being... It was extremely difficult even for 1/35, you can imaging the lengthy correspondenses between my contract printer and me... And yes, breathing IS indeed hazardous at that level! But, we'll see - I don't give up easily...

Thank you all for the interesting responses, but I wonder what made James cry?...

The reason why I needed a bit of time to get the 50 sets ready is because I still need to work on the instructions and get the proper packaging size ready. Please sign on the mailing list if you want to be the firsts to be informed when the 50 sets are ready. Thanks!

Once again, thank you, Jim! I see that you've even posted on ML!

Hi Marco,

Sorry about that, I was away with the family for the weekends. The update list can be found on my website (upper left corner). Anyway, I've already added you to the list, so no worries - just keep your eyes peeled on your in-box. All on the list will be informed when the set is ready for sale, after which it will be a first-come-first-served basis. I won't open this up as a "click-to-pay" item as there is a high chance it will be oversold...

Cheers!

Lawrence - You have a winner. I will be siging up to get on your list. For my part, once you have the woodland I will be buying a "bunch" of those.

Only thing missing is the pole set and spreaders.

Rounds Complete!!

Not (personally) having any great need for modern netting, following on from Paul's comments, I wonder what else Lawrence will come up with? My thoughts immediately turned to a similar application related to British WW2 Scrim Netting....

Mike,

Do know what pieces makes up a full vehicle camo net? I recall that it's two sided and it's got a few different color sections.

I'd love to be able to duplicate this:

Hello Scrim netting fans,

I'm not entirely sure what the Scrim netting looks like. But after a search on the net, my conclusion is that they are camouflage coloured nets to cover the faces? At close range, they are interweaved so that each "gap" is rectangular in appearance.

At 1/35, it is going to be 100 times difficult to produce using the same decal technique (not impossible, but would require a lot of effort and testing - even more than the modern camo net) Secondly, it will be single coloured - manual painting of additional colours will be required (not to mention if the material can handle it). Thirdly, it will cost around US$500 per A5 set.... But jokes aside - on a more serious note. It is the demand that drives the effort and intensive research work at the end of the day. I know for a fact that the modern camouflage net is used widely across the globe's armies (albeit in different colours and some in different patterns) and I've also taken note of a number of modellers pleas for such a product. So far, the Scrim netting is a totally uncharted territory for me to go into, such as overall demand for it in particular (will it be as great as the modern net for example?). Thus, lets hope more will speak up in support of such an idea or else, all the effort and time, not to mention costs, will be flushed down the proverbial toilet. I thank you for your idea nevertheless, it needs to be reviewed upon and given a deeper thought - a proper feasibility study before proceeding with it.

Now I must get back to getting the camo net for release - I hear many knocks on my front door already!...

Hi Evan,

Sorry I've missed your post (away for quite a while). It's US$10.50 a piece (about A5 size), postage included, and it's currenly up for grabs... 50 pieces only, for now... Please go the website to see how to order.

Cheers!

Hello Lawrence,

that are good news so far (and as long as I can get one set) but what please was the purpose of the mail list procedure

"I've already added you to the list, so no worries - just keep your eyes peeled on your in-box. All on the list will be informed when the set is ready for sale,"

when I read it here more or less accidently instead of a mail...?
