I know this is a very old kit but am having fun with it.I wanted a break from german armour, and pick this up cheap off ebay.

When i opened the box to see what i brought i thought crap what the hell is this, rubber tracks, battery slots and only 3 sprues/no PE guess iv been too spoilt with dragon kits.

Any way i began to build this kit and i know its not the best in the world but it went together ok.I think it looks like T-62.

When it came to painting i did'nt want to do a green colour so i desided on a sandy colour with the green paint showing through the chips and scratches.
I dont know if i should make it an Iraqi or afghan tank need to find some marking for the turret sides.

Oh well hope you like it.
Regards

Nice looking tank. Your chips and scratches are very well done. The Tamiya T-62 has been criticized, but you did a pretty good job on it. And look at it this way: it's a warm-up, to sharpen your skills, for the day when the promised Trumpeter T-62 comes out.
Today's Iraqi army doesn't use the T-62. The pre-OIF Iraqi army did, but they were pretty boring, with few markings. The Afghan T-62s are more colorful, maybe you can find a 1/72 scale Afghan decal for the turret of your tank. Afghanistan has used different roundels on its aircraft through the years, reflecting the different regimes, but the only marking I've ever seen on their vehicles is the red, green and black triangle on a white disk, which is used by the Afghan army today.

I dunno ...it looks like a T62 to me, and I like your paintwork. That said, I've never seen a "buttoned up" tank in the Middle East ... for me, figures bring a vehicle to life, no matter how flawed it is. Your paint is great though, and I suppose if the kit was a bargain, then it was a good subject for some experimentation.
