Hey all, ol' Careos again with yet another tidbit of entertainment on my most recent build.

As some of you know, I just started back into the hobby after a year or so of downtime.

I started building this baby a few years back, was my first 1/35 tank as well as my first tank ever. Everything was going really smooth until I shot the tank with Panzer Gray, not knowing that there were no such colored Panthers (doh!). No worries, I just kept building until my barrel had an unfortunate incident with a heater and the model was put on the shelf of shame possibly for good or until someone made a metal barrel in the US.

Fast forward to last week, I had forgotten all about the model until I saw the Cats campaign. I pulled it down and surveyed it...looked good still (aside from the lack of a barrel). I immediately crafted a plan to rob my Panther G of its barrel. Back in business.

First of all, I had to re shoot the tank with Tamiya Dark Yellow (was pretty hard covering the gray) and then start fitting the barrel into the mantlet. I chucked up the barrel in my drill to sand down the seams and get it looking pretty, then fitted it to the tank. I thought to myself (dang, she is pretty). And proceeded to fit the tracks to the beast.

Never having experience with the poly tracks...I heated my pliers to seal the ends together and melted through the entire track (OMG its dead again!!). Never daunted, I was able to glue the track ends together and make them look decent enough.

What I plan to do before the deadline is to experiment with some pin washes, paint the black onto the road wheels, perhaps try to AB out a camo scheme and glue the tracks down for some sag.

If anyone has any feedback and ideas, I would sure appreciate it. I am finally making progress towards finishing kits (which is new for me) and could use all the help I can get.

Personally, I think you said everything that needs to be done. The only thing I think that needs any help or comment is that there is a slight gap between the top and lower hull where it forms an angle. I think...

Anyway it's looking good and excellent job on wanting tto get the thing done
