Hi Jan

Is that going to be the British troops helping out the injured German tank crew? It would make a bit of sence if the Sherman and escorting troops have happened upon them struggling out of the tank.

Looking great, Jan

I really like the idea of the Allied soldiers helping the German tankers.

I“m so sorry guys .... but its not a german tanker

Its one of their fellow paras - you can see more about the set here: http://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/3630

But it would have been a nice idea nevertheless.

I do not see the need to fill this space. The scene distracts from the Tiger scene and the space is not so wide that it can't be filled with a stretch of boardwalk or any other smaller item. If you want some figures, i think a civilian watching the scene would do it. JMO

For the rest, well done!

Cheers

Jan

I think it would be a bit more meaningful if it were the German casualties next to the tank rather than Allied more for the context of the story, but civies starting to investigate the tank or even the Dutch underground network if they were responsible for taking the tank out.

It's your story line though!!!!!!!

Good luck

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!
That was my first reaction when I saw the changes you are planning. Jan, I second what Claude said 100%!
Put a barrel full of rainwater with some farming equipment propped up on the wall or a civilian watching the Shermy go by if you think you need to fill that space.
By putting all those figures back there you take away from the position of the vehicles and take away from the dramatic "poses' of the vehicles. MY OPINION is the very simple and effective scene you had will become a little too busy.
That being said...I REALLY like the work you've done so far!

Cheers,
Bill

Back after a weekend with friends a family - Nice to see such strong reaction! - I think I will play it along the way - doing it so the figures can be left out and used for other purpose. But it might not bee bad when it gets the right colours to beld it all together.

Anyway, added grass which is going to get a coat with the airbrush next time i work on it - its Heki grass glued on with ordinary white glue.

When its dry I will brush it with a stiff brush to make the grass stand - and it will be painted to blend in, mixing some of the roaddust in etc.

Did some of the roof too, used stiff carbord and white glue - left to dry solid before cutting of the surplus - patience is the word

Additional work with airbrush - think I will let the pictures speek for themself - finished the roof and added a outline in the water to give some sence of depth - still a lot to be done paintingwise

Cheers/Jan

Nice work! I specially like the way you framed the diorama, I never liked the use of pictureframes. I might use this metod in my upcoming diorama!

I like the idea, placing a barrel full of rainwater and maybe some farm tools.

Looking forward to next update and the finished product.

It has been a bit quit around here, sorry folks, familystuff, mostly partys and such.

Most of the focus has been on the diorama, landscape and building so far, so lets take a look at some of the participiants.

First the unlucky tiger - its the relatively old Tamiya "Carius" edition that have recieved some damaged zimmerit from putty and a screwdriver - and some missing gear.

Got the basic colours on, stil a lot to do before its done.

Next its the gloriuos firefly, the splendid Tasca kit - a dream of a kit - mostly done, but stil lacking a little drybrush, some wash, dullcoat and some pigments to blend it in with the surroundings.

Thanks for looking, Cheers/Jan

Well, at the moment I“m mostly looking at it, the problem is that the Firefly is a bit tight fit, so I am considering replacing it with something smaller, maybe a carrier ... cant make my mind up ...

Damn..

Personally, I like it a little tighter. Also, I think a carrier or some other smaller vehicle might look lost between the Tiger and the building. Ultimately, it's up to you, though. If you don't like it, by all means fix it.

Gday Jan
Firstly I can't believe this has snuck through to a third page without me even seeing it!
I like the way you have worked out and put in action your scene.
I personally would have been happy with the original figures but with a German tank crewman treated, or to have that area used for something inanimate.
One thing I don't think mentioned is the traverse angle of the firefly turret. Normally it would be fitting to have some degree of traverse for visual interest, but in your scene specifically I'd think it prudent to have it locked in a forwards position considering the less than generous clearance when passing the German tank?
Just a thought

Very scary - its still alive

Been working on the figures, theres a good chance that this diorama really will get done ....

Still need a mat lacquer and some drybrushing.

Cheers/Jan
