Was just talking about it couple days ago with some guys in the chat, what you think about a TD groupie, doesn't have to be a campaign, just bunch guys do something similar and have fun.

Just any kind TD can do. What ya think?

I like TD's.. I just put my Academy M-10 GMC on my workbench..... so far I have sanded 1 road wheel...... just so I can say i have started it.

Anytway's I have no idea when I'll finish it as I'll be in the barbarossa campain and I prob will join in on the halftrack build after that. so i'll be working on it off and on.

Naturally, I need very little excuse to build a Tank Destroyer - I'd be in too!

Yes, I'd love to do a tank destroyer build. I do have several TD kits that need to be built:
DML Sd.Kfz. 184 Elefant
AFV Club M-10 Wolverine
AFV Club Wiesel with TOW
Academy M-18 Hellcat
Academy M-36 Jackson (real old kit)
Academy M151A1 with 105mm Recoilless Rifle
Tamiya M-36 Jackson (same old kit as above)
Tamiya M151A2 with TOW
Tamiya Hunting Tiger
Trumpeter BJ212A Jeep with 105mm Recoilless Rifle
Italeri M-36B1 Jackson (on that M4A3 chassis)
Revell M-56 Scorpion (SPAT) (1/40th scale)
Esci LAV-AT
Esci HMMWV Tank Hunter
Academy M966
Italeri M1036
Skybow M38A1C with 106mm Recoilless Rifle
AER ASU-57
Alan Sd.Kfz. 122 Marder II D
AMT/Ertl Hogan's Heroes Jeep with 106mm Recoilless Rifle (1/24 scale)

Anyone know if my Tamiya SU-85 or new StuG III are tank destroyers or assault guns? This category is wide open. I may even finish up my old Renwal/Revell M-50 Ontos for this build.

That could be fun... when would it be ?
All I have in the model stack right now that would correspond is a tamiya TOW Mutt...
So maybe it would give me a good reason to go and by another kit... Oh no !!!

Don't be, at least you build better than me! I do not have a Hetzer or a StuG IV. My only Jagdpanther is the motorized 1/25 scale Academy one I built back in Germany in the late 80s. I missed listing my Esci 1/72 scale M901 ITV. I would like to do one of those in 1/35 scale since I have on of the last of them that aren't acting as reefs on the ocean floor.

Wow thanks for the interest, I don't know, I don't want this to get in the way of the major campaigns, so if medals or ribbons are not a big thing for ya, I like just make it a groupie, friends build similar subjects. I think the rules should be pretty loose, just any TD will do, span from WW II to maybe modern....what you guys think?

To keep it out of the Campaign scheduling and delay excitement - why not just call it "The Great Armorama Tank Destroyer Group Build" and just do it! Now you know I'm kidding about the title - but Group Builds just happen. Set a date, mabye some guidelines for people to follow along with, and announce it.

Heck, I don't know Gunnie... TGATDGB kinda has a nice ring to it... In any case group build or campaign I'm on board. It seems to be the only way I get anything finished.

Yep! I think that is one huge thing that separates Armorama from other sites. Guys & Gals build models here - more modeling than talking about it.

TGATDGB - kinda sounds like something a drunk Klingon might utter...

I'll jump in. Maybe an M10 or a Hetzer will come out of this corner.

Well, if it is later in the year ( somwhere around November or even later) it is okay with me...

I have the Jagdpanther late by Tamiya at home now.. I would like to build it with interior... anyone have any experience with the Jaguar interior kit ? So for that kit I would have to order the interior, PE and new tracks. Anyone know if the early late models came with Zimmerit ?

Also, I have first to learn to work with PE and an airbrush (have a few kits partially built and planned a few test-sheets for that), and at least one, possibly two halftracks to build for campaigns. And somehow my part-time job, possibly two studies and American Football training have to fit in... and ofcoursethe money needs to be available...

Hi all,

I'd love to have a good excuse to crack open a TD box and start ANOTHER kit. I'm in with a group build if that's OK.

If the deadline won't be too tough I was planning to scratchbuild a FIAT AR 59 with a recoiless 106mm gun...
Ciao
