Histerical !

That's great. I'm impressed. Awesome stash. They are all neatly stacked too! You've got a nice little area there too, to display or stack. What are those sticky notes for? Are they reminders or are you trying to hide the faces to protect the innocent models in the picture?

Nice pictures

Thanks for the compliments. If I'm anything, I'm an anal neat freak. Whenever I get a new kit, I will rearrange all of the boxes to put it where it makes the most sense for stacking (i.e. all of the kits by the same manufacturer in the same area). The sticky notes are to let me know that I have collected all of the AM stuff that I want for the kit. I am not much of an OOB builder anymore and tend to get tracks, PE, and a gun barrel for the kits I work on. All of the kits with sticky notes have the gun barrel, PE, and sometimes some other things inside the box with them.

I still wonder why the DML M4A1 has been on everyone's wish list. It is a nice early US tank, but there are neater Shermans out there. The only reason why I bought one was the Ben Franklin's Crafts was going out of business and all kits were 50% off (back in 1997 or 98 before the kit was rare). Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I have one, but it was never a must have.

Adam, you have an impressive collection, I never realized DML had that many German armor kits. I think they have a company goal to make a figure of every German who served during WW2.

Rob -- Well the reason I wanted one was two-fold. First, the DML kit is a really nice kit. Second, it is the only plastic model of an early M4A1 out there. I find the cast hull M4A1 to look much better than the angular welded hull variants.

The funny thing is that what I have is no where near the total compliment of DML German models (but it is almost all of the ones I actually want).

Very Nice Adam, and well organized...

I wonder how many others also put the after market pieces with the kit they belong to...I have been known to do this, till I lost track of how much PE etc I had floating around.

Oh I took care of that problem by creating a spreadsheet of all of the kits that I have and all of the AM things I want and have for each kit. Hey I told you I was anal didn't I. #:-)

Well, I am going to put together a spreadsheet too.... Basically I have about 10 kits at home now, either in production or still in package. And a number of figure kits. On the to buy list is the new Italeri 10/4.

For some I have already the AM stuff (PE, tracks on order), for some of them these still have to come.

Today in a store where I finally found a Sd.Kfz 7/1 I saw someone leaving with kits worth an amount which made my eyes almost pop out. According to him he had already about 1600 kits at home. He brought an ordner with him, on which he had catalogized what kits he has, including AM.

Adam,
Seeing how organized you are and you have a spreadsheet for your inventory, have you ever seen this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3136452273&category=1191

I came acrossed it, thought it could be useful. My collection isn't that extensive at this point.

About a year or so ago I posted a link to a free model database program based on MS Access. Here is the link to the original thread: Model Database. Works for me and was free, but the initial data input is a pain.

Just to weigh in, I have the exact same problem, to the extent that I will buy a new kit, and get home thinking to myself, "Now why did I just buy that?" I think my wife lets me get away with it because now I can never say a word about her shoe obsession.

Have lots of stacks here and they were arranged properly. You can never tell if my room is a bedroom, a workshop or a local hobby store. It's darn too many!

Actually, the mail man brought me a Trumpeter JGSDF Type 89 IFV and the Academy M151A1 w/105mm Recoilless Rifle.

Rob, my Trumpeter JGSDF Type 89 IFV just arrived, along with ICM’s BM-21. Your collections rock! I have but a mere ±150 (Vehicles, aircrafts, figures and accessories), why ± because to preserve marital status (ie married not dead or divorced) I have decentralized my collection. In plain English, hidden the Kits away wherever I can find space. When she is not around I will put them together for a photo.

Although not a large amount, I have only been getting back to model building for 4 months or so. Before we relocated from RSA I had close to 400 kits (remains from past building period). Had to sell them in a yard sale, incl. my favourite; a half built F16 cockpit. Only old faithful made it out with me, a 1:72 ESCI M901 ‘Hammerhead’ which was labelled M163.

Cheers
PS: 5 kits are in the post.
Just paid for 8 Kits and bought a compressor

A couple of them were a Mr. Italeri's present (they were already out of stock), because I midded two to build my platoon, one was bought 3-4 years ago and the others were presents from friends knowing that I was looking for them...
Ciao

P.S.: Don't worry in a few days it should hit the stores shelves another time!!!

Scoccia,

Do you have PE or any resin detail for one ot those wallace & Gromit kits? - I'd do one of those next, it would make a good post in the forum.

I thought I was the only one sick and twisted enough to stash away 100s of unbuilt kits. Thanks for showing me that my obsession is NATURAL! :-) :-)
