Hi Rob. Just love your Beat up, burnt out wrecks. THANKS FOR THE HEAD UP ON YOUR ROCK SALT TECHNIQUE. Who said you had to buy high priced multimedia kits to make great models? ESCI and a bit of honest scratch building.... AWSOME STUFF When are we going to see some Olive Green wrecks? Those 88 really made a mess Cheers Geraint

Rob,
Your model so far is a prove that one good modeller does not need a highly accurate or good kit to come up with fantastic work....
Waiting to see more of your progress.....

This is what modelling is all about. Taking a semi-decent kit and turning it into a masterpiece. What camera are you using by the way?

Thanks guys for the wonderful feedback, very motivating for me to continue with these two.
@ Brett..I use a Sony cybershot for the in progress pics. It's not the greatest but it works. For the final pics I'm using my wife's camara and my lighting set-up, much better pics. The turrets with the blue background were taken with that setup.
@ Steve.. thanks dude, and you will see this one soon enough.
@ Garaint...hmmm very tempting. I will be doing a sherman or two in the near future, unfortunitely I have O knowledge of the Sherman.
Yep the old kits still have lots of potential. I buy new release kits after they have been out for a couple of years, and all the hype dies down.
No progress today on the hulls, maybe tonight.

Thanks gents, I appreciate the kind words.
I managed to squeeze in some time to do the road wheels for the one T55. It's not quite done yet, the rubber still needs some weathering. Here is how she looks with the wheels on.
Gotta run for now, more to follow.

Rob,
Great work on these ESCI T55s. They really look the part and all your scratch work makes them look impressive. Equally impressive is your weathering.

Thanks Chris, the fun part for me is the weathering, especially when I build wrecks.
I spent the weekend working on the Iraqi T55 and here is how it looks.
I'll have to order some MK tracks for these two because the kit tracks aren't that great. Other than that the two T's need some more weathering and then they are done.

Rob, Do you need some of the Tamiya Rubber band tracks - I some spares I could give to you. Think about using the Masterclub tracks instead of the MKs. They are cheaper and significantly better.

Thanks for the offer Chris, but the Tamiya tracks don't fit. I have a set and tried them but they are too short. Thanks for the tip on the masterclub tracks, I'll have to order a few sets.
