Dear Jean-Thomas,
your M1127 Stryker RV looks very impressive. Currently I am writing a reference report about the RV which will be published very likely in the magazine Military Modelling in Review. Therefore I will take some new interior photos and action photos the 2 SCR M1127 Stryker RV.
Good luck with your model

Hi Jean, excellent progress! The anti slip coating looks really good.
As to the reference pics, yep i got your email fine, I should of replied to let you know but have had a lot of work of recently! Really appreciate the pics though! I have also just acquired a set of pro art stryker slat, so I look forward to seeing how you tackle it. Im still toying with the idea of selling it on and buying the griffon set instead. Im not sure what people say on the accuracy of that set however?

Dear Jean-Thomas,
as the report will not be published within the next weeks just send me an email to [email protected] and tell me which kind of interior photos you are looking for. As long as you dont publish these photos on the web or in magazines I have no problem sending you some via email. I will spend some days with 2-2 SCR and 3-2 SCR in June during their training exercises.
I am thinking to write a book especially about the 2 SCR with all their different vehicles. Lets see...
Currently I am building a 2 SCR Stryker with 2" Slat Armor from ProArt. I must say the kit is really nice even when the tubes of the slat armor are a little bit too thick. I can just adivse not to install the slat armor before painting.....
Kind regards from Munich,
Ralph

damn, your stryker is absolutely stunning !!!
this night i had just add the last details in my interior, and the result is correct for my eyes i hope to make a correct work on the paint stage
once the upper hull is fixed, we can't a lot of details, by the way i would make the anti snipe screen on the rear of the beast, with slat armor, we will not see many things
even if my interior is finishe to build i'm really really interested by your pics ralph and i would like to thanks you for your help and kindness
as soon as possible, i will send you an email ralph, just the time to take my english dictionnary
a big thanks for all people who help me in project
next step will be the conversion to m-1127 in external details, i will use some part of the trumpy kit, the LRAS3 look so fine
and install the slat, by the way i had the same idea of you, i will make seperate pieces as you made on yours

no problem rob, the most important, it's you have correctly received my mail
about the accuracy of differents sets of slat, i read the Eduard one is the better (if i correctly understood the topic of armorama)
as said ralph, the pro art have the tube a little too thick
griffon set is nice too, but a few hard to build (i had help a friend of mine to build them)
i choose the pro art slat, because i think to make add on armor in resin is the better solution to have a solid construction
in the others sets, the add on armor are classic panels in thick folds of metal, i have some about the capacity to hold in the time the slat armor
second good point in the pro art slat, it's the tube in resin, don't need to fold the tube in four contrary of PE sets
sorry for my poor english i hope you have undestand me

Jean-Thomas,
the M1127 is my favourite stryker too.
Will follow your thread with interest.
Maybe it is too early to talk about the figures you want to use but as I have noticed that you spare no efforts (and expense) the following set might be interesting for you
Camo decals
There are some more interesting sets available (soon).
Good luck!

thanks marco
about the figures, i'm not sure for the moment if i will use figures from market or sculpt them
my main project was to use the two modern ref from alpine miniature
for the ACU i will paint them, i'm not impressed by the decal sheet (i have one piece of them)
for the paint, maybe this link will interested you http://zyclyon.blogspot.com/search/label/Alpine%20Miniatures%20-%203rd%20Stryker%20Brigade%20Combat%20Team%202nd%20Infantry%20Division
tutorial made by calvin tan, who paint the box art for alpine miniature
and in effect about the product from echelon i'm looking forward to purchase them, the result is really great

All right dudes, here some updates about my stryker
First time i would to thanks sincerly Rober Skipper aka 18Bravo for his help with his CD of pics on the Stryker, we can found lot of closer pics and details on several versions of the Stryker (m-1126,1127,1129,1133,1134,1135)
Thanks to him, i can made lot of details on my kit
Thanks robert !!
Now let me to show you the result
The LRAS come from the trumpeter’s kit (pretty nice piece) with some details in scratch, the 12.7 is Voygaer models set i added the shield in metal fold, and support in plastic card
The stowages sets on the rear sides are from Blast models (really good quality and finest moulding)
TAGS on the commander’s cuppola are made in plastic card too, i haven’t any size, but i tried to make them as correct as possible
Next step will be the slat armor from pro art, i have already glued the slat armor bases in resine and etched parts, for the moment the set from Pro Art is really good and the instruction’s guide clear and usefull
I hope you like it, let me know what do you think about this stryker
And sorry for my poor english
here the pics
cheers

Hello Jean-Thomas,
Very nice work, you have done with Stryker :-) Could you please explain, how you made the anti-skid material? Is it sandpaper, you have glued on, or is it something, you have sprayed on?
Regards Thomas

Hello Jean-Thomas,
Isn't it time for an update on your M1127?
How did you make the armour shields for the commanders cupola btw? Do you have scale drawings, or is it just your own jugdement?
Regards Thomas

Dear Jean-Thomas,
how is the progress with your M1127 Stryker RV? I am pretty much done with my M1126 Stryker ICV. Currently I am working on the figures and at the I will have to cover the upper hull with a large camouflage net. I used a lot of parts which will soon get released by ProArt Models like the Macaw Backback or the Waterjel Fire Blanket Containers. As the Blast Shields from Eduard didnt fit with the ProArt Slat Armor I built them with plastic sheet.
After finishing this model I will have to get back to my desk to write some more books this Autum.
Cheers,
Ralph

Hi Jean-Thomas,
there will be reports about the Joint Task Force East Exercise of 2-2 SCR and 4-2 SCR in the upcoming issue of the French military magazine Assaut and the German military magazine Militärfahrzeug. Parallel I plan to publish more Stryker books with WWP. Last week I spent with 3-2 SCR in the field and took many good photos.
Cheers,
Ralph
