Many of you may have followed Claude Joachim''s painstaking progress whilst building his magnificent model of Clervaux castle entirely from scratch. And whilst he is steadily working away on the remainder of the village, here is the castle in all it''s glory.

Good luck with the remainder of the project, the model as it stands is amazing with the continuing work on the village this will betruely awesome, well it is already

Simply stunning, Claude you have created a piece of art, the workmanship and dedication you've put into this are an inspiration. With the village in there it will be astounding.

Amazing work Claude! I already saw it in real-life at Euro Scale Modelling in Nieuwgein, the Netherlands. The photoshopped images could be real photos!

Hi everyone,
Thank you very much.
Thanks also to Henk who reminded me that i did not update you all with those finished pics a lot of moon's ago. Sorry for that. Thanks also for putting this online.
As normally i post on the diorama section and this discussion landed in the Armor discussion, it has the advantage of finding a few new viewers.
For those interested in the progress of the overall dio, the second module is covered in this blog
VillageThe third part i started recently is covered here
AnnexesI will cover the build of the castle in a book expected to be published after this summer.
Thanky ou all

My wife saw this and thought I was looking up a hotel to stay in when we go to France in the summer . . . she didn't twig it was a model. The stonework and roofing in particular are *really perfect*. I would assume this is destined for a museum or somewhere public?

Thanks Matthew
Looking real is probably the best compliment i can get for the dio!
I'm in discussion with the municipality of Clervaux to display it in the actual castle. But only after i have finished the whole diorama.
Thanks

AWESOME...! i like architecture on a 1:35 scale. the style and attention to details is very impressive. thanks for sharing..some tips. i read the related threads and they're lots of things to learn from. maybe we can build a 1:1 scale replica of this castle. again..i'm more impressed on your architectural side. hope to see more of your work. thanks again. edssarao

I think I want to draw myself a hot bath and open a vein....
This is simply stunning. I watched it come together on the dio forum and am just sick with envy over how good it is. Fabulous.

I hope your castle gets into the castle, so it's legacy can live on. I'm particularly fond of all the nature details going on around the castle too. Amazing project
