James,

Don't forget this time to smooth the edges of your cobbles.
Also, the joint between them should be a bit smaller. I know that this means more cobbles :-)

hey claude, how would i smooth the eges of the cobbles?
and what i ahve done so far , they are closer togeteher,
more cobbles dosent bother me.
i ahve done the water, i wony wanted a thin layer, and a swan would complicate things seemings im a water noob, their are some bubbles but i am satisfied for a first attempt.
i may put some lilly pads over the worst areas
Jba , i used 2 layers of basically filters, as the product advised not to mix with it, these broke apart when adding ( slight )texture with the heat gun, and give it the look of algae.
to be honest its not great, and i will look into using more suited propducts in the future.

Hi.
Just thinking that you might be able to find some swans in the Britains plastic farm animals range. It has been a long time since I saw any, and I have a feeling they are 1/32.

Sorry for the delayed answer, i was away for an expo the whole weekend.

Smoothing the edges of the cobbles with sanding paper of course, one by one, just to take the hard edge away.

Cheers

Claude no worries! and Damn, i thought it meant place them and then sand them! well im not tearing them up again! ill try to get in under the eges and smooth them out
Martyn many plaster fronted victorian style buildings had "binding around reatures and edges of the facade. it is not finfished, there will be i think, a row of raised ege, liek a skirting board alonf the bottom, and the wood will be extended to meet with this.
for now, small progress pics, im gonna try some sanding before the plaster goes down

To lamp or not to lamp?

doorbell detail

and squashed solder for the brackets

JBA i ahve tried harder, with a straight ege to cut straighter lines!
still they have small curves

thats all folks

Good stonework, looks really good to me i think it looks better with the lamp but that's just my opinion. The water doesnt look that bad! Maybe having two windows would've looked a little better but it's fine with only one. Do u have any other plans for this dio? I think it looks great so far

hmm i think the EZ water might be the problem, not you. the colour is a bit too green and bright. i've never used 'envirotex lite' but it might be an idea to get some and slightly tint it yourself with brown and a bit of green paint. i think this will be much clearer than what you are using now and will give a nicer effect. the cobbles look great. perhaps you could try adding a little colour variation to them. just make up some very thin paint slightly different to the base colour (almost a wash), and apply it to a few of the stones. mix up a few of these glazes and keep applying them to random stones. hopefully the dry brushing will still show through but the colours will appear subtly different.
if you do try this, i'd use a few colours that are more red, a few that are more blue and a few that are more yellow than the base.

great work by the way!

Jimmy,

Fantastic work on the diorama , I love the details of the drain pipe and the telephone wire on the building.

Regards,
