This is my first Armor kit I've completed in nearly 3 years, been mostly dabbling in 1/48 scale aircraft since then...

Anyways the base kit is the Academy M2A2 ODS kit...decent kit, but the directions have a couple errors in them
I used the Blast Models Suspension update, Blast ERA Armor kit and the Legends M2A3 conversion, which is pretty nice, but its lacking in some regards with missing details that are found on the M2A3...though it works fine as a 2005-2006ish OIF vehicle.

Painted with a custom Tamiya mix I found on the modern DG on Missing-lynx, MiG Filter applied,Oil pinwash applied to details, MiG Beach Sand pigments and MiG Oil and Grease stains applied. Vallejo Black grey used for scratches. A pencil was used to do some of the scratches down to the metal. All have to say is sand colored vehicles are a pain in the butt to weather, but I'm fairly happy with the results.

If You have any questions feel free to ask...

Great work!. I wonder how the Blast and Legend conversion compare...

Do you have a link to the painting guide on missing lynx?

Superb work though

Lots of nooks and crannies on that vehicle and it looks like you weathered them all very well. Great looking finish - congrats

Very nicely done. Been working on a Braille Scale version of this beast. You have given me renewed inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

I was going to do a 1/35 helicopter or a Truck but since seeing this, I might change my mind and go do the Tamyia M2A2 Bradley with the interior from the M2 Tamyia Bradley they have.

I would also like to know about the paint mix .I have a few OIF stuff comeing up and would like a good sand color mixer. Yours is increditable.Show stopper even mybe, everyone would be talking about your amazing kit.

Happy Modeling

Hey scott

Wheatering a sand colour model is not easy but I must say you have completed the job. Nice M2A3 you have build there, and the blast sets look great. I like the way you painted repaired items in standard green tan. The addition of the fuel leaking is a nice touch. I just wonder if you are going to add more crew stuff and a dio or just leave it this way? What tracks did you use for the model?

Just 1 minor thing I noticed some nasty staines on the rear right stowage box. I don't think they should be there.

Cheers Roel

The only thing I'm going to add is some Constanta wire to the front hull. Most photos of the M2A3 in Iraq show them pretty lightly loaded up with crew gear and what not, since they are pretty much used as a mobile pillbox or strong points at FOB entrances.

If you look in Concord's Iraq Insurgency book there is a photo with a Bradley with POL stains similar to what I did with my rear storage box....could have been a bottle of CLP or some other type of liquid that leaked out and got stained up by the sand kicked up by the tracks...thats the look I was going for.

The tracks came with the Blast Roadwheels...I wasn't a 100% happy with them, they aren't on exactly perfect, partly due them being LTL resin tracks. A set of the AFV Club Tracks for the M2 Bradley would have been a better match, but I have them for my IFOR M2A2 Bradley I want to do one day.

As for the Tamiya color mixture, this what I used:

2 parts Flat white,
1 part gloss white
1 part buff
1 part desert yellow.

Hi Scott,
it was worth waiting for the completion of this brilliant kit. I like very much the weathering all in subtlety.

Congrats

Olivier
