We need to have a banner made for an upcoming event in Europe and I was just curious if any of our members might have an "in" somewhere in the sign/banner business where we might save a bit of money. I have gotten some quotes as low as $72 for a 2' x 6' vinyl banner with our logo in 2 colors. But this still seems high to me as I use to work for FastSigns and they use to offer them for a lot less (the one here gave me the $72 quote though). I am betting that with the advent of full-color printing that all the costs went up (and this is progress??).

If you can help please email me offline ([email protected])

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, here where I work - City of Fort Lauderdale, we are always having banners made for all kinds of events in all kinds of sizes. Let me talk with our "Events Administrator" and see what she can come up with, price wise.
What exactly are you looking for?

Ken,
Thanks. Basically we just need 10oz vinyl (white) with our logo on one side taking up probably 50% of the space on a 2' X 6' banner. I can provide the logo in a eps, corel, or other format. I don't think grommets will be needed either.

Cheers,
Jim

Dave,
Sure that would be great. How are the shipping rates from HK to EU?

Jim,

I will venture a guess that shipping rate from HK to EU will prolly be the same as from the States to EU. when will the banner be needed? If it's needed soon, I can arrange it to be sent with my cooperate FedExp account at a discount.

Dave,
I think the event is in September, so a while off yet.

If you can get one done inexpensively that would be great. Let me know if you need more info than what I have posted above.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
I know a company in Belgium that prints plexi signposting dead cheap for us. I think they charge 45 € per sqm, full color. I'll try to remember to ask my assistent to contact them for pricing on Monday. Send me a PM if I should forget ?

PS : This wouldn't be for the meeting in Geel ?

Jan,
Indeed this is for Geel and future shows in the area we may have a table at. Who knows maybe we are starting a trend here.

Your plexi option sounds interesting. Let me know.

Thanks,
Jim

:-) Can't help with the banner, unless you want one laser cut in stainless steel. Is there any chance of a trip to the IPMS UK Scale Modelworld at Telford in November? I believe it is the biggest event of it's kind in Europe. :-)
