modelmaster acrlyics are the best. and there easier to use. plus the wife dont complain about the heavy solvent smell you get from enamels. so i say mm acrlyics are the best

I used Tamiya Acrylics for along time but now i only use Enamels. Humbrol mostly with some Testors and Revell on occasions. I just found i could not mix acrylics well enough. I'm sure it was something I was doing wrong.

scharfuher,
Ive found that putting a small screw or bolt in the bottom and shaking well really works for me. i get a far better mix than stirring in a lot less time.

I always use tamiya acrylics for spraying, and humbrol enamels for hand-brushing. I have seen life-colour on sale in a shop near me, but at the rate I go through them, mail-order, which is the route I would have to travel for all other brands, just wouldn't be feasible.

Here is a link to a colour chart for Gunze sangyo:

http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff_eng_colorcharts_gunze.htm

A bit of a description below:-

"Japan was early to adopt acrylic paints in modelling, and Gunze Sangyo has been in the forefront of the development. Gunze Sangyo Aqueous colors are still some of the finest flowing acrylic airbrush paints available. Thinning may be accomplished with either isopropyl alcohol or Gunze thinner, both producing super-thin, smooth coats.

Gunze Sangyo acrylic numbers ar often given in Japanese kit instructions (i.e. Hasegawa) as "black numbers in white boxes"

(Thanks for the hint Martin. I'll give it a try.)

Cheers, Paul

squadron.com sells gunze at $1.90 per bottle I think

I agree Michael BT

Gunze acrylics are fantastic - but no-one seems to sell them! Maybe we can start a petition to get more model shops to stock them!

All the best

Rowan
