hi im curious to what your preferences are when it comes to paints, in the past ive mainly used tamiya acryllics but recently i bough a bulk load of model colour paints by vallejo and i think im converted now, the colours are ecellent and the bottles are ideal with the droplet applicator. Now im only using what i need and mixing them is a dream?
whats your favourite?

Model Master Acrylics.

I just started using some of Lifecolors which seem pretty nice thus far.

I'm pretty much open to whomever produces the color I need, but I typically stick exclusively to acrylics. I do like Vallejo, but if I can find the same color from Apple Barrel, Delta, Folk Art, etc. then that's what I'll use.

I agree with Ken on this, Martin.
MM is great straight from the bottle, no clogging issues, good coverage, and they keep well. My first choice all the way!!!
Good luck on your painting!

Many Tamiya colors mixed to get the colors I want with a healthy smattering of Model Master Acrylics thrown in for good measure (though I find them thin, and as of late in some cases extremely glossy -- even after thorough mixing, seems to be the dark greens).

I use Model Master Enamel and acryl. A good dose of Tamiya acrylic and some tamiya enamel. Finally a smattering of Gunze enamels for those special mixes that they come up with. Have yet to experiment woth Vallejo, but I here good things. Stug

I prefer Testor's acrylics, look good and easy to clean up. Use testor' enamels as well. I also when I can buy those cheap dollar store acrylics ( folk art, delta and americana). They work well and you can't beat the price. For a good dirty dry brush or wash I love americana's Mississippi Mud. It is the BOMB!

Being in Asia, I almost exclusively using Tamiya and Gunze Paint. But I am more of a gunze man. Because Gunze has all the mixed colors, i.e. if I wanna an RLM02 for my BF109 (not that I do a plane, I am an EXCLUSIVE GERMAN ARMOR BUILDER (TM) ). I can just pick up a bottle from Gunze that is RLM02 instead of mixing them. I am lazy, but Gunze works for me all the times, either airbrush or hand paint. I swear to Gunze. Tamiya paint is nice too, they are big bang for the money, especially the big bottle ones, real nice.

Hi all!
I love Model Master Metalizers - they go on beautifully, dry in no time and buff up brilliantly!
They're hard to find in my area - I ended up getting some mail-order from the US. I really want to try out their standard enamels.
All the best
Rowan

Ditto. Sometimes I'll use Humbrol enamels for metalic colours. I find that the enamel metalics look better than the acrylic ones.

For airbrushing I prefer Japanese products: Gunze acrylics are my favourite brand- but they are very difficult to get here in Poland. So I use Tamiya paints, too. Both of them are excellent- but Gunze products leave extremely realistic surface.
Working with brush I use Humbrol enamels.
And for weathering MIG pastels are the best choice.

I agree Michael BT
Gunze acrylics are fantastic - but no-one seems to sell them! Maybe we can start a petition to get more model shops to stock them!

Porky,
You're right. Only once I bought Gunze acrylics in Polish modell store. But now I will order them in R10 in Japan (I'm waiting for Trumpeter's Franziska- I will order them together to minimize costs).
