I have just completed the Roo Resin “Radio/Command Body” after market kit, for Tamiya’s Deuce and ½ Cargo Truck.

Roo Resin produces aftermarket resin items, and is the brainchild of Armorama member Cliff Hutchings aka “Lord Pouch, Da Aussie Dude” (as he is affectionately known in the chat room).

The Roo Resin kit includes the entire Radio/Command body as shown on the attached pics, two fuel tanks, and wire for a rear ladder. The kit assembles fairly quickly, and mates perfectly to Tamiya’s U.S. 2½ Ton 6x6 Cargo Truck, kit 35218.

The attached pics here show the completed product. A complete review of the Roo Resin Radio/Command Body is being prepared, (with supporting in-progress pics), for submission to Jim (hopefully to be posted here at Armorama).

Please congratulate Cliff and wish him well and success on the launch of this new product.

As usual, helpful comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Steve

Nice work Steve, nice to see the completed conversion. Previously I had only seen Cliff's photos of the conversion. I also have been talking to Cliff about future ideas (canadian CMPs for example). I join with you in wishing him all the luck in the world with this....Jim

Most excellent! Lord WWH, I congratulate you on a solid effect of the clean build, and this model reall shines with your superb, flawless painting skill, and drybrushing and weathering. I have to say you probably are one of, if not THE best person that does the monotone paint jobs. And I am also glad to notice all the lens are in correct colors (big step up for ya, dude), Them tires, very very nice.

Most excellent!!! Lord Pouchster Da Aussie Dude (B**), congratulation on the successful launch of this fine product, it's a beautiful conversion, and will be more next OD projects. I thank you for your effort for putting into this and make such a beautiful beautiful product for us.

Hereis for the fine Chatroom Gangs!

Martin--by drybrushing.

The base coat is Tamiya Khaki Drab XF-51, (airbrush applied), with a highlight of Model Master Roof Brown acrylic, followed with a final dry brush of the khaki mixed 50-50 with white primer. The lightened khaki provides the high lights seen on the edges.

Thanks to all for your kind comments.

Lord WWH after further study of your beautiful model, I have a question to ask. The ladder in the back. Does the kit ladder come with the whole piece or in parts? is the construction of a ladder that is straight as in your model require home made jigs?

I once again have to give you credit to finally pull off a correct lens job.

Dave the ladder is made by you with brass wire supplied in the kit. It is simple to build and the instructions give measurements and a simple way of doing it. The back also has locating holes placed in it for correct positioning

Once again thank you for your kind remarks and also thanks to WWH for doing such a super job of assembly and paint. :-)

Alright OD Dude, stop saying I don't post in your threads.

I think it looks like a good build. The only problem I see is that, to me, it looks like it's made of plastic. Maybe it's the lighting I don't know. Don't listen to me, I'm very sleepy.
