Matt, Ian and Thomas - Thanks for posting guys! and thanks for your comments!
Ian, in regard to your question about the sand color on the uniforms I think I went with Tamiya Acyrlic XF-57 Buff
Thomas I'm afraid I didnt take any photos of the interior before i clogged it up with equipment, stores and figures. Its pretty much a standard Hummer, the only thing I added was the Ble Force Tracker (pro arts) and the Rocket launcher hanging from the roof in the rear cab (you can just about see one end of this above the picture "Evan Wright"
Alex - below as promissed are some of the reference material I sourced from the internet. If anyone comes across a photo that might be they're own or is copyright I can take it down if there is a problem. I dont remember the exact sources as it was some time ago I did my research but I think most came from the Photo Bucket or Picasa websites..

..as mentioned already I used most of these photos for a color guide, this pattern can also be seen in the two related books on the matter. If you really want to precise with this build then I suggest getting a copy of "generation kill" and "one bullet away", most photos are B&W but they cover most of your needs

Roy,
I gotta get a loan of this box set off you buddy!
Great build mate. I got quite a few HUMMWVs in 1/35 and 1/72 with so many ideas it's crazy!
I'm really looking forward to my U.S. Hummer with Russian Automatic mortar in the back that was trialled some time back.

Sir,
I am Brad Colbert and I have been working on a model of my HMMWV from that time for a few years now. I have old photos and my memory to go by and I will now add your OUTSTANDING model and the photos of to guide me. I remember spending days getting that vehicle ready for deployment and all the details are there in yours. You have done a first rate job...
Thanks!

Nicely done! This is the essence of scale modeling. Taking one vehicle in a snapshot of time and creating it in miniature.
Beautifully done!

Well what a pleasant surprise this thread gave me this morning. Thank you guys!!
Brought this to the IPMS UK Telford show last weekend & ran her in the Competition.
It was funny because it was my first time judging there (thank you mecanix) & I ironicall ended up with with three categories to look over, one being this models cat too so obviously had to decline! To be fair the other kits were just amazing & this model didn't win anything but I got a nice couple of comments after so was chuffed enough with that.
Also gave me an opportunity to touch this model up before the show & have since added a nice inscriped name plate with the USMC Globe & Anchor with the title "Generation Kill, SGT Colberts Humvee" incribed onto a fab template, thanks to the guys at NameIt ([email protected])
Hrdmetl, PM left for ya

OK, getting paid a complement like that may be one of the coolest things I have seen online.
Nice work on the Humvee, by the way!! Might be the right motivation for me to finally start work on the Bronco kit

A compliment like that from the man himself must be worth more than any show award Roy. That really is cool...
