...is scratch building missile fins.
These are for a ROCO German Roland. My original fins looked too thick so I decided to give it another try using spare 'PE sprue' from an unbuilt kit.

They are a little bent, but in this scale I don't think it will be too noticeable.

I also modified some of the spare tubes provided to simulate spent tubes with the business end hollowed out and cut out the missile exhaust blow out vents. These tubes will be laid around the vehicle.

If you want some material to scratch metal items rather than using PE use the cartons takeaway food comes in, or better still the metal tubes that are used to package items such as tomatoes paste. Good on you for starting your scratch work, but the fins on the missiles would not be attached as they are here, would they?

Hmm...good ideas. I'll have to remember those. But now I can check off the 'PE' box on the 'things I have done list.'

The missiles are tube-launched which means the fins stay folded until fired. Then discarding sabots seperate and the fins unfold. I plan on posing this missile just leaving the tube.
