Nice to see your progress guys!
Anthony, Jeremy, you've sure done great job on your entries.
Jeremy, what paints (mark and numbers) have you used to paitn your Humvee?
Here is were I am at the moment - my vehicle is painted with base color, interior is basicly done, two layers of gloss coat, decals and matt coat are applied as well. I've also started to paint details on the bottom of vehicle.

Next step - weathering, weapons, and final assembly. I may be able to finish in time!

Greetings everyone.

Some beautiful builds going on in this campaign. Oliver, I am particularly partial to your wonderful SKOT 2A. (wonder why?) Real life is still interfering with progress on this build but some has been made.

Here's some pictures prior to starting the painting.

Here's a shot after a base of Russian green has been applied. Actually there are two different shades at work here, one lighter than the other.

The next picture involved some experimenting with the flash settings to get a better colour image. It didn't really work out but I thought it shows some progress.

This last picture is after some more variations in the green to achieve affects similar to pre-shading. I rather like this picture and the two halves are not glued yet. Some further sanding/contouring on the rear of the vehicle is coming close to a far better fit than in previous pictures posted earlier in this thread.

I would like to do a three colour camouflage but am confounded by the many variations in colour schemes and variations of patterns in pictures that I've found on the Internet. It seems that no two vehicles, even in the same unit, are the same. On the other hand, this might prove advantageous as it gives me artistic licence.
Cheers,

Well, yet again I am just short of completion with my entry, an M-20 armoured car - pretty much box stock from the 1/35th Tamiya kit.

I still have to finish details like tools, weapon, cargo (you can see my home-made rucksack from epoxy putty on the back), detailing the interior, and adding the crew.
But that isn't going to happen before the campaign ends since i have to help my girlfriend move this weekend.
Is this far enough to call complete for the campaign, or is there a chance at a small extension if not?

HELLO Vance:Good luck with the move, I bet that it is cold at the moment in the Lone Star State, how did you accomplish the star over the hatches? It looks great. Would you reccomend the kit, I have been looking at the M20 or M8 for my next build.

Fortunately Tamiya provides the star in 3 pieces, making life a lot easier. I did, however, put the middle part of the star on before affixing the air vent armor (you pretty much HAVE to do it this way). Lots of decal solvent helped nestle it down. once it was cured, I attached the vent armor and then put on the other two parts of the star. A fair amount of frustration was had lining things up, but the tamiya decals are tough enough to be pushed around a lot thankfully. I did touch up a little with white paint as well.
I liked the kit and thought it was an exceptionally smooth build. I did notice a few inaccuracies in the interior after it was too late, but i am just as happy i didn't know about them ahead of time because i probably would have felt obligated to fix them.
Thinner light gaurds would have been a good addition too...

hi guys here my finsihed project for the campaign.
as you can see there are no decals on the front bumper as i have misplaced them and dint have enough time to go rummaging in my room to find them

so i have decided not to add them! but have decided to add foiliage two weapons helmet and bino's aswell as wiring for radio to headset aswell and the antena base i scratchbuilt as i lost the kits antena base, i also managed to misplace the windscreen so the tarp covering the screen has been made. this jeep being my first completed campaign project i am quite happy with as of lack of time missing decals ( own fault ) and missing antena base ( own fault )

sorry again for the quality of these pictures its a camera phone

For my Humvee I used Woodland scenic numbers for the markings. The paint was MM US Gulf Armor Sand. I little darker than the MM sand color. I weathered it with MIG Beach sand Pigments to lighten it up. And if you are curious about the color of the Grenades they are MM Pale Green.

Excellent SKOT, Olivier. Hats of to you for a great entry.
Andrzej, I would like to use the extra deadline to finish my AB 41 for the campaign. I have the camouflage on, so it is decals, details and weathering next. It should be possible by 14th February.

Wow! There's some nice modelling in this campaign! (Anthony, I like what you did with that Jeep...)
Anyway, here are my two completed entries, just under the wire as it is only 23:22 here! I've put one pic of each in the gallery, ther rest are on photobucket to save gallery space.
For the ribbon, my rendition of Tamiya's Amphibious GPA:

And the Italeri Jeep:

Look out for the Jeep as a "supporting actor" in my entry for the (extended) Bitter Taste of Defeat campaign...

I have a question for the campaign manager. How are the ribbons given for the completion of the campaign? Then how do we get it put on or page for display? I am a first time campaign entry. I have never had time to do it before. Thank you

Once the campaign is done, the campaign leader goes through the campaign thread and the campaign gallery to see who completed their builds. He then goes to the campaign page and clicks on "Add/Remove Awards". Only the leader of that campaign (I think) and the Campaign Manager see that button. Once the awards are handed out, they appear on your Profile page.

Tony,
The GPA came with the driver. The Jeep driver is from the Miniart US Jeep Crew & MP set, and the passenger is cobbled together from bits from an ancient Tamiya figure set. (The original legs would not fit the Jeep...) The trick is to mix and alter poses to get something that tells a story - the two Jeep crew will be looking towards a wreck, with other standing figures examining it close up.
Regards,
Tom

Thanks for the campaign Andrzej. I'll do some finishing work on the "micro-vignet" of the Luchs in the remaining two weeks and post a final picture here.

Amdrzej,
I recieved my ribbon....thank you . Had a good time with the campaign too. Is there any chance you'll be compiling all the entries and turning them into a feature like you did with "on the Eastern Front". That was really cool. I wish all campaigns did that cause it really gives all modellers a chance to have their models looked at by a much larger audience.
