I love it!!!!!! My favroite armor vehicle built to perfection. Couple questions,---the Tamiya kit??? and also ---how did you make the rolled tarps on the front fender and rear end.
Just gorgeous--well done!

Steve,
Thanks... yes... this is the Tamiya Kit... it's not a "perfect" Pershing.. but it's a darn fine kit....
I sculpted the tarps using Tamiya "Epoxy" Putty... this product comes in a box and you get two small rolls of material. (I did NOT think it was a very good value as the box is much BIGGER than the tiny rolls inside).. Anyways, I just rolled some putty out flat and then.. started folding. and scuplting the tarps... I added straps and buckles to finish them off.

Now that is one fine Pershing! Very, very well done.

You just gotta love em big and green!
Be sure to show us when she's weathered.

Kencelot
Thanks for the kind words... I "have" to show it when it's done... it will be my first completed kit of 2003.#:-) .. so, I just have to make it before the end of tomorrow
Steve203... the tracks are just painted Tamiya Red Brown... the basic German Camo color... it's my usual track base color. I know, it's not some fancy ten step process.. but I like it.

Well done. Very nice build. I really like the photography. The first photo is a gem. I love the blue contrast with the OD.
Great addition to the Cook Off.

Herr Oberst...
I have been slightly out of action... mostly because I have been working like crazy and it's summer time so I have all that yard work to attend to... I am building lots of models.. just not as much time to hang out.
I hope that your summer is going well.

Very very nice. Timster. Pershing is real mean looking, I especially like the pic with the gun pointed towards the camera. Gave my tiger and panther a bit of scare there.... geez.....
Very nice.
You, Sushi, and WWH, had done the nicest OD color thing I seen so far..... Great work!

Dave,
Thanks ALOT!... maybe, just maybe all this OD will help to "inspire" you... maybe just maybe we can get you to build one...
Tigers and Panthers should be scared of this beast
By the way, you can see more pics of the model
in the Tankshack image gallery.
Thanks again,

Tankshack, I have to echo what everyone else has already said. I really love the homemade tarps. I have never been a fan of aftermarket tarps. Your scratchbuilt ones look spot on. Now I am going to have to dig my Pershing out of the pile and get started. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Thanks, again guys... I really did enjoy building the model.. I forgot how much fun it is to build something that doesh't have a zillion p/e parts on it....
I really did enjoy the research on this project also.... I really liked the look of the Marine vehicles used in Korea... all covered with tarps, packs and crates. Actually, I've already got another one of these in the "pipeline"...so stay tuned.
See you later,
Tim
