Howdy once again folks:
I started this kit because I was waiting on a paint order for my Trumpeter 17cm Tiger but i've enjoyed building it so much that i'm going to keep going and paint them both at the same time.

It's a out of the box build w/Friulmodel tracks.

If you would do me a favor and let me know if I need to add or change something that is not correct or would improve this great model.
Right now it's just stuck together for the pics and I can take it apart for painting.

This is my seventh build and my beginners luck might be getting a little thin by now.

Thanks for looking in on me

Lookin Good So Far ! This is one of the kits I am looking for so I'll be following your build closely. You replaced the tracks with metal ones, are they easier to work with ? milvehfan

Milvehfan I really can't answer your question about the tracks. This is my seventh build like I said and all i've ever used are the metal tracks. Just reading what others have said about other brands and materials used to make them I had just as soon not have to worry about them pulling apart or breaking while you assemble them.
Plus the added weight holds them in place on the shelf and are not as easily knocked off. Friulmodel tracks cost a little more so I just put a little more aside in the AM kitty. I hear the price is coming down and I won't complain about that either.

Go ahead Rob, I recommend it. I hope the pictures show off the gun well enough for you.

Thanks guys

Not much to see but it's closer to getting primer though.

Those brass deflectors don't go where I placed them above but they install here.

Instructions not very clear so I checked a picture of a real Hummel for correct location.

it looks amazing so far. For some reason I would hate to paint that barrel because it looks stunning.

Soeren I saw a Hummel or a Nashorn that was Dark Yellow with Red Brown wavy lines on it somewhere and I thought that might be something different.

I see a lot of touch ups,man those close ups bring them out of hiding big time.

Glad you like it fellows

First time at camo net making and that green sure looks bright, maybe a raw umber wash will darken it up some.

The cartridge locker is finished.

And i'm working on the gun now.

Thanks for the kind comments folks

Matan, i'm just now trying to learn the art of chipping and its been a real thorn in my side too.
There's not anyone locally that can show me and it's been all trial and error,so far all errors in my eyes.

I'm too hard headed to give up and things will click sooner or later.
Oh btw I made a change and added some gear this morning.

Thank You Sir

Paint Scheme??? OK here you go.

It's different but I got it from the 2./s.H.Pz.Jg.Abt.560 1943 and I hope you like it.

I found this wavy-pattern also on Trumpeter´s Sd.Kfz 7 Flak43.

Oh my DJ i'm glad you like my chipping but in my eyes it's not even close to being good yet. I just started to learn the art and I can't find the handle on it. I've been trying to talk the wife into letting me dab here head in paint and try that cause nothing else has worked for me.

Soeren: It seems most think I made it up but the 2./s.H.Pz.Jg.Abt.560 used it on their SPGs in 1943.
I'm glad someone else knows it was used and I was not just imagining it.

Thanks guys

Hmm, I was not sure, which paint-scheme you want to use.

I saw the wavy pattern with dark-yellow as base and green + brown on Trumpeter´s kit and on "hobbysearch" I found some interesting paint-schemes for the hummel.

WOW, Tony, the build looks superb!!! You put my sFH18 gun to shame with that beauty in tehre. I don't build many tracked vehicles but really must get me one of these Hummels.

Great work!

No I wouldn't go so far as to say it puts your 18 to shame because that gun is a fine looking build you've done. Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it.
Yep it's a very good kit and I think you'll enjoy building it too.
