Dear Ian
The garbagge bags are done using the same plastic as the 1/1 scale, glue with super glue and fill with putty and voila.
Concerning the matress, i soldder copper wire as a frame 2 pieces 6*4 cm and the springs are soldder onto the small copper wire and the frame is soldder together.
Fill with cotton and cover with paper and PVA glue.
Burn as real one
Is this clear ???

The rubbish looks great! I love the burnt mat, that's both very gloomy and very realistic. try the "water" being flat, you can see that it's not that flat because of the picture..

Ah! great question innit? Honestly, I think the question for all of us is "where to stop". In my mind most diorama makers actually stop too soon
Well, if you want to do something realistic, you could be inspired to paint the ground above the water in a darker shade of normal sand, like water recently receided but the ground is still humid. That would be a realistic way to figure a puddle in the middle of the desert

Ok As you can see this dio has been in old for quite a while, since I was not happy with the Stryker crew on the market.
So I need some help, I would like to use Helo Stryker crew #1 I gonna use the complete figure but the pics are not really clear. Does anyone used it and can make some comments?
Then I would like to use the Alpine figure OIF Us tank crew, but I have 2 questions, it is clear that there some issue with BDU vs ACU. Can I fix that easily ??
But my main concern is: can I put this fig into the Stryker hatch ???
I hope that someone can make this test for me.
Thanks in advance
Seb

I'd get rid of that concrete wall; it doesn't make sense in that scheme.

Seb,
I have both sets and although the alpine set is very nice I don't think they will fit in the hatches. Atleast not in my MGS

thanks concerning the sand, I used aluminum oxide powder 250 microns diameter. If you don't work in a chem lab then it is really hard to access to such material.
Concerning the concrete building block, I found this product from Hansa systems.
