Dear All
I have been working on my
Stryker .
And I decide to build a dio, crazy idea not really after seeing the work of Chas, JBA and his french neighbor, I decide to try a smal dio well with the Stryker it will be big.
It is a simple road in a Iraki village, I start the ground work as well as the electrical pole total stracth .
I will put more rabbish on the opposite corner.
Concerning the figs, Stryker crew, journalist at rear and some locals.
Comments welcome

The base is looking good so far. The scratch electric pole is good. Rubble is good. Love the drain pipe. The stryker is nicely done.
My suggestion would be to even out the road or compess and extend the suspension. The wheels aren't touching the road.

Thanks Scott
Yeap, I need to fix this issue but I dont know how yet since i glue the road onto the plaster surface. maybe adding some patch of dry mud, or some piece of tar ???
Other question where can i find concrete block (CMU) at this scale ???
i would like to build a small wall and scatter some all around the dio.
Cheers

You can easily pour your own concrete blocks with some plaster. A quick mold out of some balsa or legos.

I was thinking of doing master in plastic strips and mold in RTV.
But there is no AM for them, anyway that was my first plan to scratch them

Dear ALL
I have been busy reworking on the base wall and repainting them.
I restart the small bush and start to add the tar line to cover the holes on the road.
I also work on a mattress for the garbage
Please tell me what do you think
cheers
Seb

Hi Sebastien
Nice Dio, like the striker a lot! And the matress. How did you do it?
One thought though: If the matress burned where it is now, the plastic garbage bag (by the way, how did you make that?) would also be burned.
Did you scratch the electric pole?
Cheers!

Seb,
Nice representation of a Stryker as well as the Iraq countryside with your dio. I would recommend that you add more trash. Bottles, paper, empty plastic bags, empty barrels, etc.
One thing that I have to ask is why you have wires tied to the Duke Antenna (105D antenna)??? In real life, this would significantly decrease the range of the Duke and its ability to defeat radio controlled IEDs... Do you have a reference pic that you used to model the vehicle?? If this something tied to the antenna, I would guess that it would be parachute cord verses wire.

Yo Seb,
Nice Stryker!
You're setting looks good, what dit you use for the groundwork?
The electric pole looks very good...I should place more bleu chips on it...it will nicelly contrast with the hole scene.

Oh man, how did I do to miss this one? Your very first dio from what you say? quite good I like it, the matress and the ferns are looking great and the ration vehicle/size of the dio excellent as well as the balance of the diorama, really keep on that way and we might see great things for you very soon indeed!

for the sand i used aluminum oxide powder from work it is 0.053 mm diameter so very fine and look really realistic.
I dont know if you can buy it like that well ask Sigma Alrdrich.
@JBA
well if the king of the dio appreciate it I am very happy
And not my very first dio, but my very first dio taking your lecture on volume/area and all configuration.

looking good. I guess a palm tree would look good but the one you have is a bit too smooth possibly? there a a few articles on making palm trees in the features section that may help you here. Also i like the rubbish pile, but you might want to scatter some other litter around the scene so it doesn't look like someone has collected it all up and put it in a nice pile, (unless that's what you intended of course).
great work!

Looking good! I would be very interested to know how you made the plastic rubbish bags and the mattress.
Cheers,
