Thanks. Any photos of that gun sticking out of CV9040??

Imagine the above machine gun, without the front sight and painted green.
The barrel sticks out about 50-60 cm.
Don't have an image right now but will look for one.

I am not familiar with this vehicle. I am curious as to whether this is a SPAAG, or is it strictly for ground combat?

Gents, I thought I would share some pix of my recently finished CV9040. I only added AFV Club tracks, rest of the kit is oob. The build was really a pleasure! I would like to see some C-Version of this vehicle to depict an ISAF-Version... or some CV9030 swiss edition...

Enjoy and share your thoughts!

Nice build up.

I wonder if there is a reactive armor package - if these vehicles go into harms way? The sides of that body just look so bare after looking at Bradleys, Tuna Boats and BMPs lately, almost like an M-113

Thank you.

Newer versions seem to have some sort of armor upgrade installed like those CV9040Cs:

Versions in Afghanistan additionally have barracuda (?) camouflage applied.

Hi guys,

A few in action pictures of Swedish vehicles in Afghanistan can be found here . Among them Stridsfordon 9040C (CV9040C) and Bärgningsbandvagn 90C (recovery version).

@ Jeremy:
The basic CV9040 are an IFV just like the Bradley, BMP-2, Warrior etc. The chassi have been used for a number of variants including an AA vehicle.
The versions in use by the Swedish army can be seen here (sorry, no English version)

/Cheers,
/E

This is correct but the IFV version can also be used against low flying aircrafts and helicopters with good result.
But it has not any radar as the CV 90 AAV.
