Part of the package deal Mike. We get older and it stinks. The eye balls don't focus without help ( magnafiers), we dont walk in too straight a line, the fingers don't bend right ( too many hammers and knife cuts, the wife looks at the stash and complains, and prices go up. But look on the bright side, we have models to build. Hope all is well.

OK.........here is a picture of what the ground works look like,

As you can see its almost all together. the bare wooden places will be filled in with sparkling to build it up and level it off to match the kits bases. I still have some filling in to cover up some joints and to change the lay out to the right of the base.

OK will post again when I've completed the base.

Thanks for all the kind comments, I do appreciate it.

Hello all...

Started filling the voids and joints and I've started to add some extra ground works in some areas.....

I'm hoping to start the painting on the it this week sometimes, I just want to make sure it is totally dry first.....so I'll move on to doing the roof tiles(or slate) on the main house..........this will be the first time I've scratched build them so it will be an experience...........

Ok will post more later.

Thanks
Mike

Here you go Mike

Antique French stoves

more stoves

Also one of the TM vac form house ruins comes with a stove. That type is more common to Eastern Europe and Nordic countries though. Dave O Meara (Grumpyoldman) Built one

EDIT: I also found this one at Jadar Hobby

Hello everyone,

Sorry for not post in awhile been a little busy with the new work area, still have a lot to make it work for me........here's a picture.

I also just want to show everyone a couple of stoves I scratched build to go inside of the house, can you guess from what kits I used to build them.....Good luck!!!!

The large one is a stoves for a kitchen and the smaller one is for a bed room, parlor room.

I hope you like them, I think they will look better when they are painted and placed in the house.

OK.........until the next time.

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for not posting in a while but I've been busy with trees and vines (the latter is the first time I've made them). I'm still working on the dio. and buildings. I actually think its bigger than I thought it would be.

I will post Pictures soon of the progress.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

Here are some pictures of the trees I've been working on and still working in the biggest one, an Oak.

I know these aren't that greatest tree's but it's the best I can do at my level if modeling. I think the more I plan to do I know I will get better. I can tell you this, I have looked all over this site and others or the easiest and cheapest way of doing it, so I came up with a combo of several to get it done.

I will post some Pic's of the main build tonight and post tomorrow.

Thanks

Sorry for the photos, still trying to get the best lighting to show the details.

Started to put up some vines on the side of the building and added some flower boxes on the front 2 windows, still have some work to do on the ground work but all in all it's coming along. I just hope I can get it finished by the end of the year, before the Miniart Campaign

OK that's it for now.............will update more later, comments are appreciated.

Have a Good Day

OK guys, I have a question?

I'm in the process of building a steeple for the church in my Diorama.

The question I have is, should I build a Square or Octagon type steeple? I have enough spare parts to build either one. but I just want some others opinion. I plan to build it for part of the rubble that will be around the church.

I have plans for one like this, but i can get one for a Square one also.

Photobucket

Please let me know.

Thanks
Mike

I would go with the square one if it's for a small country church.

When you say it's for part of the rubble do you mean you're going to have the steeple lying in the rubble as if it's toppled over? I could be completekly wrong but I don't think a stone structure like that would stay intact.

I could be wrong, Pat.

But the church that comes with the Miniart diorama could have a wood frame roof with slate shingles, at least it looks like it when its put together, if that's the case then a wooden steeple could be used.

Won't the church have a stone shell like other buildings from that time period for a small parish church with the remaining structure being wood including the steeple. Now if the church depicts a major Cathedral in a major town Then I would agree with you.

I could be wrong like I said. but please let me know what you think.

Well after some extensive research, I would have to agree with Pat.......

......All the pictures I have seen of churches with the steeples that have been destroyed there was nothing left of them, so what I have planned is still have a steeple in the scene but crushed and broken up, but you will still be able to tell it was a steeple. with a bell in the rubble.

Thanks Pat for setting me on the right path.

I will post a loads of pictures later

Thanks
Mike
