Hi Jeff. Great build and paint job. The pre-shading is well done, and the dust-coloured washes are perfect.
The dirt looks good on the running gear, but there are areas of "fresh" green visible in there as well ... that are still visible. This is letting down an otherwise nice finish.

Bingo Frank and working on it.
Wish I had some neighbors around here as good as you.
Care to move to the US Of A.
Soeren yes all Mig pigments mixed with Plaster and Matt medium.
Plus good deal on the shell color.
I painted them in Green and not black as Gino sent a pic of Modern Russian stuff and was dang close to our color.
Carl good idea on that filing them in.
Also I put the cables on but did not run them back I saw that maybe to pull those carriages up with those 200 pound shells on it?
Don't know I have not seen or heard of any books on this gun.
Any around to look at?
I hope as you said they will not attack the plastic after a few years.
Resin would be better I guess.
Hmm get one done and cast it in 2 part mold?
Nope to much money for the Rubber.
Thanks for the Tire Idea .
Thanks all the base will be a city setting stay tuned rubble and all that is involved.

Hi Jeff,
Looking at all of the pictures of the cables to the breech, there was a definite fixture on the breech for the cable. So I am guessing they had something to do with the in / out / traveling position of the gun.

Dang those darn Russians.
Will look into it.
So where I am now think I need heavier clumps of mud on the sides.
Comments welcome.
Took outside pics think I did better in the house. :-)

The blue background works better for the photos. ;-)
With the pigments... I will see, how to use them.
They have an nice effect!
Now I have one more idea and got some help with stones for a landscape. (perhaps the next build-log can be found here, but in an other section)
The snowed landscape on my first (still in progress) dio, should be nearly almost covered with snow, so I would use the pigments and other dirt-effects on later projects.
greetings...

Hey Jeff, one idea (idea only) is the "17cm Kanone 18" from Trumpeter, standing in the desert. I wait for the kit, arriving to the shops.
The other plan(!) is, to build a desert-like landscape including a soviet lander. In another model-kit-forum, one man built a scale-model of one of the russian/soviet venus-landers!
From him, I will buy kits.
I have no new pictures are on the net, because I don´t have enough "store-space" for new pics here.
My current build-log on this site (including some photos) is here:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/129752#1074354
It´s a german WW2 artillery gun (Trumpeter, schwere 10cm Kanone 18), standing in the snow as an "after the war find" or so.
This dio is not finished. I will change some things on the gun and dio; adding some plants and an ammo-box - but no -military- figures!
But today (Wed, 26. August), I started to make a landscape for the venus-lander and mixed the ground-material with a grey color and poured them. I made some photos of the wet material/color-mix, but did not published them. I will see, how it looks, when it´s dry.
Perhaps we will see these pics here. ;-) (topic on an other forum-part)
