tsk tsk. Hans, you have a issue, all the times you ranting about how your Panther is terrible in the chat. What you meant by that? This is a perfectly executed model. I love the subtle effect of weathering, the clean build, the white wash, the way the track and mud looked. Very very nice.
You need to loose up your standard a bit. Man. Good work

Great paint and weathering-job!!! You really turned plain old Dunkelgelb into something eye-catching.

I just made the close-up of the turret into my wallpaper. Nice.

That is one sweet looking Panther. Love everything about it. Even like the pic with the Canadian quarter showing.
Cheers

Rich, the wait was definitely worth it. You really have done a beautiful job on it. I particularly like the work done on the weld marks. Some get excited by the color of lenses, I get excited by nicely executed weld-lines. And all this comes from someone who is not, "an exclusive german armor-builder"............Jim #:-)

Thanks for the kind replies folks.
I hope to find a compressor soon so I can airbrush that KT that's sitting partially assembled in a box. I would like to do some scratches and chips on that one. I would have liked to have tried that on this one, but I've already done this heavy washing and filtering and I don't want the scratches and chips to sit on top

WOW!! Whatta kitty... nice job!
I have 2 very small niggling inconsequential nits to pick if I might after saying again what a great job you did on the overall build/paint/weathering.
In the 5th pic down, behind the gun cleaning rod tube, there seem to be 2 locator outlines there that I am not sure belong. The might be for the other A or for the D model.
Also in the same pic, on the commanders cupola hatch stop, DML has thoughtfully included a big old injector pin mark right there in the outside face for you.
Please don't get me wrong, your cat is BEAUTIFUL and these two nits -as in nitpicking..- mean very little in comparison to the great build/finish.

Richard,
This is a superbly executed piece of work! The effects of the filtering and the weathering have produced an excellent finish that all looks in SCALE with the whole vehicle. I am not a big fan of vehicles that are covered in chips that make them look like a paint chip with a kit underneath. Please do not 'chip' this up as you will ruin what I feel is a beautifull overall effect.
Very well done indeed!! :-)

HAns
Outstanding Panther dude and with this you show that you can make something really good OOTB without spending a million on AM stuff.
The Whitewash is very well executed and adds a lot of reality on the vehicle. The decalling is good too no silvering and such.
I already have said this in the chat but some subtle chipping would bring this model even more to life and it`s not that a big problem to do it after.
But besides this nitpick I can easily say that this would be a big winner at a contest. Congrats very nice tank

Wonderful job. I love the finish. Outstanding.
My only comment is a PURELY personal preference no dig on what you did at all. I would have dirtied up the tow cable hooks and some of the boxes on the sides a bit more. You may have (probably did by the look at the effort) decided to keep them a bit more clean as if they had been replaced recently.
Well Done

Outstanding work on the Panter, you make me want to run and open mine up and get to work. Though I doubt it would look that nice (at least at my current skill level. But then again practice makes perfect!!

Thanks for the good comments people.
Yeah. It wasn't the best build since I was lazy and I didn't bother to fill and sand as much as I should. The camera I have is a new 3.2 megapixel digital so all of the flaws show through now! I guess it's the second tank that I've finished now and I have two more in progress.
Mike, the kit was the DML Panther A early and it was reasonably cheap.

Can only agree with the other guys....... lovely finishing and weathering. The faded whitewash, does add so much to the dunkelgelb colour. Well done!

Hey, it´s an outstanding job. I like it very much.

How was the weathering done, did you use oil washes and pastel chalk ? Great job :-)
