Interesting to see the Supacat website has been updated.
For tires, would these do?

They are not too far off the actual size.
A scratch build is tempting...
Off-road driver training takes place on Braunton Burrows near RMB Chivenor. I spent a week earlier this year working on the Burrows and had to very careful as they were speeding all over the sand dunes. They are impressive vehicles.

The shape of the wheel tread reminds me of the Bushmaster
The actual tire is the Michelin 335/80R XZL
or the new Trump M1117 Guardian which would be cool cause they'd be ready made if the dimensions match...

don't know if you saw this on top gear a few weeks ago when they tried to play British bulldogs with the British army? Jeramey was getting chased by a jackal.

Quoted TextFrom what i understand the jackles frame is a completly new one. as it has to with stand up to 45+ mph over rough sandy terrain.
http://strikehold.wordpress.com/2009/06/24/supacat%E2%80%99s-new-coyote-tactical-support-vehicle-light/
from what is seen here we can tell that the "coyote" is a much longer chassis than that of the jackle which may "lesson" the speed of which it can travel over the "iraqi land" the jackle which is used as a "logistics recon" vechile will probably not be put out of service for another 9-10 years, even though the jackle two will replace most of them, the coyote is being used as a supply vechile but also as support when things get a little "red" out there.
The Frame on the vechile as i've said is new not a landrover frame although some did say they took some of what the frame is from the stalwart but i think that is highly arguementative myself.
seeming as the stolly is a much more "amphibias" rought "english" terrained vechile
Actually your wrong. The Coyote has the same capabilities as the Jackal if not better as its role is to go places where the mastif and Wolfhound cannot reach. Also the wholse idea of having the 6x6 chassis is to cope with the rough terrain in Afganistan not Iraq As its going to be a tactiacal support vehicle for keeping up with Jackals and troops on the front line .
well actually the jackle was developed for this purpose, and the coyote is developed for supplys, also the jackle 2 is now replacing the jackle so i could be wrong in saying the "jackle" dosnt help this, yet adding another rear axle i meant this would wider the turning circle clearly lesseoning its abilities in the field of war...
but if i made a mistake im sorry, its just that i get told about mordern british armor alot from paul gandy "PG models" he's in my MAFVA

Having another axel is not going to lesson its ability! well whats the point of the Coyote? Thats the whole reason of having the axel is so it can reach place the matif and wolverine cannot get! I suggest you get a hold of this months Combat magazine.

I thought the whole point of adding a third axle was to actually give it a load carrying capacity, not change performance. The link below is the official MOD website which states that that Jackel 2 have purchased on the basis that they offer improved performance to the original vehicle whilst the cayote will act as a tactical support vehicle carrying supplies in support of the jackels. Much of the armies recent new vehicle purchased under the recent protected mobility package have been tactical support vehicles including wolfhound coyote and Husky, purchased specifically as load carriers.

"The vehicle, procured in just seven months, was originally designed as a purpose-built weapons platform and that is where Jackal comes into its own. The vehicles have a crew of three and are armed with a .50 calibre machine gun, automatic grenade launcher or 7.62 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) with a second 7.62 GPMG for the Commander. The jackal carries a general purpose machine gun and either a heavy machine gun or grenade machine gun, giving it heavy fire power over a 360 degree arc"
also yes thats what i suggested in my text, it was a supply vechile, i just remembered that the jackle was designed to protect the crew from IEDS and mines given the 2-3 inch steel floors panels

Yep I got what you were saying ollie, it may be a supply vehicle but it does look some beast though! Info on Husky on the link below which is an armoured load carrier whilst wolfhound is a mastiff with a cargo deck.
