thanx for the tips!

even now as i am writing this message i'm rendering the completed tank model, with the dark grey/rusty tracks. will let u know when i'll be pleased with the result and i'll upload some wallpaper sized renderings somewhere on the net for anyone who would be interested.

cheers!

Cool!!!! I'd love some new wallpaper..........
BTW, I found a link on another site that can give you some other hints on painting tracks.. http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/german/olt2/olt2.htm
But like I said, what you choose is up to you #:-)

ok, here goes nothing

www.chez.com/arlechinu/tc59.jpg

just copy and paste the link into your browser's address bar and it should work (direct link doesn't)
any suggestions are as always more than welcome
still have to do some more modifications like changing the colors of the treads attached to the sides of the turret (i painted them dark brown but i guess they should be metal grey as well)
i'm leaving town this evening so more renderings will be available later, after i come back. till then hopefully i will get some more ideas on how i should improve the model

later!

Arlechinu,
That is really looking good..
The only suggestion I have to improve it would be to "chip" the zimmerit and maybe make it a little more "un-uniform".. Other than that, I think you have done a GREAT job..

arlechinu,

this looks awesome... mind if I copy these images to my HD ? In some respects they seem almost good enough to use as reference for ones models...

hello again and thanks for your replies!

the images are free to download for anyone and also feel free to send them to anyone or post them anywhere on the web as long as you do not remove my signature and my email from the images

i finally managed to make some renders of the tank model from all angles around it
i also decided to let go of the camouflage scheme with the dark brown stripes because the colors simply seemed to hide the details of the model
so here are the links to all the renders of the Tiger model with the dark yellow cammo scheme. haven't added more wear and tear to the paintjob since i wanted to make the model look not very beaten up. also i have to admit that i'm kinda anxious to get started on another model so i don't think i'll have the time to do more work on this model

as always copy and paste the links into your browser's address bar to make the links work

PS: machu, what models did you build in 3ds max? do you have any renders on the web that i might take a look at?

till next time, comments and suggestions are welcome
