Interesting,

The boxes on the rear appear to be extra airco units, correct?

They could be. There are not usually any air conditioners on a Bradley. They are either air conditioners or some new slat-type armor. But why would you armor up the rear stowage boxes? Anyone else have a difinitive answer?

on close inspection these boxes do have fans inside , 2 in each box suggesting they are as said , airco boxes .
this would make an interesting conversion i agree, id also like to see the likes of dragon and trumpy produce more bradlies in 1/35th scale ,this not only gives us all the base kit to add and scratch with, but also the not so willing scratch builders the opertunity to build modern armour straight out the box

Air conditioning will also be installed in one Brigade Combat Team vehicle set.

Yup, looks like an A/C system. BAE is installing them on 1 BDEs worth of vehicles in Iraq as a test of the system.

BAE press release.

I agree that it's an A/C system.

These vehicles IIRC also have new seats, and other upgrades for survivability.

Looks like this one has also been fitted with some features included in the Bradley Urban Survivability Kit (BUSK) like the sight protection for the turret external optics consisting of a mesh encased in a steel frame (see picture #2) and a lightweight, non-conductive 'dome tent' structure to protect turret and crew from low-hanging electrical power lines.

Now what is needed is some interior shots of the walls ,so we can see how the plumming from the new A/C units are ran.

I read about a kit that allowed an M249 to be attached to the CITV. Have these been fielded?

Why does some of the drivers visionblocks appear redish?

It is an anti-laser coating that protects the crewmen from lasers burning their eyes. They appear to change color as the light reflects off it from different angles.

You could pull that color change look by using a color shift pearl paint. I tryed it once on my first bradley. I used the rong color Alclad (Mapel). of you can use Bare Metal or Testors sheet chrome on the view port then paint a transparent color or Die over the chrome to give of the color inwich you like the most of looks right to you.

From what I've read there is no M2A3 kit out there. Is this still the case or has things changed in the department of modern armor? TIA

Nice photos My Thoughts are why no one has had a decent crack at this kit sure the Tamiya and Academy kits are good but what about a Totaly New Tool M2 Series with all the bells and whistles of the latest offerings, Hobbyboss Could pull it off or even AFV Club could do it but at least Hobbyboss would have non slip.

Looks like the US has been talking to the Brits.

The Warrior has a large A/C unit on the rear that also cools the drinking water as well as the interior of the beast and grills over the sights.

Smart move.

Keith,

Would have thought the Brit system would heat the water too. Gotta have that cuppa, right?

Cheers and Happy New Year,

John
