Well... it's 99.9% done.. so I thought that I could still post it here... the only thing left is to paint the vision blocks, the tail lights and the .50 cal...
The weathering is done... and it'll be posted very soon in it's completed state.
Later,
Tim

Hey guys,
Thanks for the nice words about the model... It really was a fun project, The Cold war Campaign. I really like the M26 series alot... it is such a brutish tank.
The tarps were all made from Tamiya Epoxy putty... maybe Keith will let me write a "Digital Diamond" for the site??? #:-)
Thanks again.
Tim

Tank
My all time favorite tank---good job. What's your secret on rusting/weathering the spare tracks on the turret?----They look great.

Now that`s a tank you definitely don`t want to have against you. What a beast.
superb painting and weathering nice decal job. I really like what you did on the Sparetracks attached to the side of the turret.
Really a good looking vehicle congrats

Very well done.I like the weathering too.
Constructive crit.
loop the rope through the handles of the jerry can. After a few minutes of vibration,it will slip down and fall off.If you can find very fine chain, put some on the cap to the handles of the jerry can too.
But it all is great as it is.

wow outstanding my man how long did it take you from start to finish? and tell us how you done those spare track links the painting and weathering looks spot on even to the extent that even though it's plastic i'd still not like to meet it on a dark night!

Thanks...
The total project really did not take that long. The Tamiya kit is a very, very easy build. I'd say that I did the actual construction in two or three sessions probably 10-12 hours total.
The painting took about half as long... probably 6-8 hours total.
I followed a really basic scheme of preshading and weathering.
The spare track links were easy... the "trick" is to under coat the links with Flat Black and then I use three or four different "shades" of rust and sand colored pastels mixed with thinner. When this mixture dries... just scrub some of it off... that'll leave some black showing through.
Thanks again,
Tim
