Was wondering if anybody has built this thing?
Looked no reviews.
I ordered on an impulse Looks to be quite nice.
Thanks

Hi Jeff
not yet.... the kit is still sleeping in the stash. But it is a nice kit, with metal barrel.
In my opinion, the flash supressor is not well done for that scale.
No open holes and also those lines around the muzzle are unopened. You have to stick the supressor on the nipple at the muzzle end, like in 1/35. This could been done better.
Cheers,Nils

Hi Jeff
you are welcome!
The kit represents the early version of the Flak, also without the shields.
I don`t know, if any AM company makes those, or parts for a late war model.
The kit has no PE parts and two decals.
Here are some pictures from a dealer`s site:

I have the pre built version that was released before the kit version. It is the same gun and assembled it is a nice piece overall. The only after market parts are new more accurate CNC brass shell casings, loaded magazines, and Magazine cases from panzerwerk.com

Those are 20MM not 2CM ones.
So anybody make any screws in this scale?
Started it and it is lacking a bunch of stuff.
Cheers and good modeling.

Chris not much can be done with the cover.
The handles are I guess what they thought they should look like
With all of the pics on the web think they would of looked at any of them.
That box on the side totally different then pics I have seen.
So a bunch will have to stay that way.
But at $32.00 can't complain too much.
Bad thing not much in the way of aftermarket parts in this scale.
If so would take the kit up to much I think.
Keep in touch I am now starting step 4 already
I am building a large cabinet for it and some other things that can not be put out.
40" wide about 13" deep and 82" high.

Only pic I have worth a darn.
Keep slugging away at it.
That gun shield is one warped puppy, tried to straighten it but might have to remake after the boiling water dip does not do it.

Nice build Jeff -- have the kit as well but never really got around to building it yet. Like you, I have asked around for reviews and comments when I got it. I know its a bit late since you're very much under way -- try googling a site called The Sixth Division. I stumbled upon it while looking for references. Their focus is on 1/6 scale -- I recall there was a build thread/s on the same DML kit. Cheers -- Tat

What is the size of the model? 20 inches?
greetings...

Those are 20MM not 2CM ones.
Jeff,
I was under the impression that 1cm = 10mm. So the same right?

Don't ask me Jim as still a regular inch dude.
I think the plan was the Germans had problems with their 20 MM ones and went to a slightly larger weapon to compensate for it.
But don't quote me on that.
Primer on.
Still thinking of those darn shields to add or not.
And no more shooting Floquil paint without a mask.
Soeren about that in length base 13 inches barrel 15 inches set back on it about 4 inches so close a nice big kit.
Get one dude, you know you want to.

Paint going on now.
Still thinking of the shields and if I should add them.
A kit would be better.
Cheers
Jeff
The primer areas have been repainted as also the shield.
Anybody make a kit for the shields?
Thanks

So tell me Soeren why is stated as 2 Cm and not 20 MM?
Same in the book I am using.
Looks better close up.
The glare from the flash kind of ruins it.
But one big base.
Cheers

Excellent progress on this beast, Jeff! Looks like I may need to get one now. It's too bad it doesn't come with the shield though as that would have made it even better. That ref book you have there, is it any good? If I end up getting this thing I may need to get one of those myself...
Good progress!

There's a discussion about wether or not 20mm and 2cm are the same?
Here's a few more:
Flak 88mm or Flak 8,8cm, both the same
Pak 75mm or Pak 7,5cm, both the same.
The Marshal Museum at Overloon has a perfect 20mm Flak 38 gun, as well as the 7,5cm Pak 40 and 2 Flak 88mm guns.
