Very nice, indeed! I could look at these for hours; they're simply fantastic. And, I can't wait to see your diorama.
You've really sparked my interested in British vehicles and gear.
Thanks, Al!

Hi Tony,
Thanks for dropping in and your kind comments. The jeeps have been a lot of fun. Only originally intended to build 1 but they kinda grew. Only regret is that I didn't pick up the Resicast Decals when I had the chance, but at £25.00 they seem OOT for one or possibly 2 vehicles. Life

Glad you enjoyed the builds, the campaign has been a bit quiet recently. either hols or people are building away and saving the outcome for later.
Cheers
Al
Hi Michael,
Same detail , thanks for the kind comments, appreciated. Glad to have sparked an interest, British stuff is quite quirky; makes it interesting and a lot of their vehicles really unusual., even a bit odd looking, but when you start to looking into them there is a lot more there that first thought.
Cheers guys

Hi John,
Thanks for looking in, glad you enjoyed them. The jeeps were job speific. A total of 28 modifications were made to them depending upon role and although they were standard mods they were carried out by the unit REME so there is a lot of variation in finish and not all mods were applied to all vehicles, I guess time and the MTO decided that.

Hi James,
Thanks. Thoughts and plans for the dio are on page 7 of the Market Garden Campaign, although the figures for the dio begin earlier. There are some cool builds going on there.
I'm really basing this around the possibility of the MB Horsa glider so the board area may need extended, and I've not settled the final setting yet as I have been doing a lot of reading up on the campaign, so the troops may well need to be walking in the other direction lol, lol.
A long way to go yet, but I think the campaign doesn't end until December, the dio will end when it's done

They turned out looking great.

Great collection of "airborne" jeeps Alan!! I have a couple of the Resicast jeep conversions and I hope mine look half as good.

Hi,
Great to see some Brit Airborne jeeps.
Only critism- Rank is only sewn on the right sleeve of the denison smocks .

Hi Matt,
Thanks for the feedback. I wonder if there was unit variation on the ranks? On Page 12 of D Day paratroopers there is a picture of LCpl LAmbley who was later killed in the Ardennes. He clearly has his rank on the left arm of the smock.
Might be the exception though, I'll remove it from the paratroopers but leave it on the chaps from the arilanding brigade for now. Thanks for that hadn't thought about it.

Hi Alan,
1st and 6th Airborne only wore their ranks on one arm, (if you've ever tried sewing stripes onto a real dennison, you'd be glad to only have to do one sleeve).
Rank on the left arm? Has the photo being reversed? (seen alot of WW2 pics with the negs swapped around).
All the best.
Matt

Hi Matt,
Yes, wouldn't be easy, that's why we had Tailors lol,,lol. He was Ox and Bucks so glider borne inf. Don't think the pic is reversed, could be though.
Anyway thanks for pointing that out, it is an easy enough fix and will save me on decals for the remainder of the troops.

They are all lacking the para wings, Archers do a set but they are expensive and work out at almost a £1.00 a figure!!
Thanks again.

No Worries, keep up the good work Alan!
Heres a few pics of my 1945 dated second pattern dennison.

Hi Matt,
Thanks, I had one of these back in my military days, colours were more yellowish/brown as I remember, but there were several styles and a lot of patterns.
Always useful reference.
Cheers

Hi Alan,
the pics are of a genuine WW2 example, the yellow ones are 1970s pattern ones.

Hi Matt,
It was around 73 I had mine, traded it for a pair of jungle greens I had from Hong Kong wiith a chap from the Guards Independent Parachute Company, when the Guards still had a Para Company, the deal was certainly on my side.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it had been altered with a large brest zip pocket, long time ago now.
There was a whole range of customised kit around when I was in. The Master Tailor was always kept busy.
I have a few more troops to do so I'll use it as an example, thanks again.
