Well ive seen the tag line 'committed to the modeler' being spouted a lot recently by a certain company, but I think with news like this its clear to see which company these days is truly committed to the modeler. Great news to finally see some shots of this model, it looks fantastic and I really hope you turn you attention on the BMP 1 and 2 as well. Keep up the great work Trumpeter!

Quoted TextQuoted TextGaoyue,
model looks OK but the idlers do not look like the production type...
Make sure they check this. Thankyou.

This is the early version
So why does your box art show the later idler and sprockets?
Ahh, now I see the difference between the wheels.
What about making both types?
greetings...

Gaoyue,
I'm not sure what you mean by "early version" ?
According to Steve Zaloga the solid idlers are essentially seen on the prototype and pre-production vehicles. It is correct that some (demo) BMP3's are still seen today with such solid idlers at armour shows but production vehicles seem to be mostly seen with different idlers (with spokes - see photos below). At any rate it would be wise (and appreciated) to include both types in this forthcoming Trumpeter kit, as well as additional rings for the spoked idlers (to prevent track shedding) and reinforced bump stops.
Personally I don't care if this means delaying this release by a a few months. Many of us have been waiting for this kit for ages so I believe we can wait a little longer if you make it worth it.
Thanks in advance for listening.

Looking at the pictures Gaoyue has provided, the turret appears to be oval in shape.
As for the "other" issues, lets get this kit out good and hope that any "late" model features will be added to the -M version.

Hi!
For 2008 it's a standart version. In Moscow military university, I graduated in 2003. was older version. And in 2001 in our field camp we had first batch vehicles.
This pics I made on Moscow military exhibition in 2008. This BMP now serving in tank regiment near Moscow.

I'm very happy with the BMP-1/ Type 86,
The BMP-1 was/ is used by so many armies.
Are these two exactly the same? Or will the kit have parts for a russian vehicle and chinese vehicle?
Thanks.

That would be interesting to see the new boxart. I have a small collection of these drawings and that´s really like art.
The Type 86 and BMP-1 are not ecactly the same. I didn´t found exact details, but some very interesting camo-patterns. (green, brown-grey, dark-blue and white)

Thanks,
So can you reasonably design a kit that has the possibility to make either a Type 86 or a BMP-1? Or would it be more costeffective to make two different kits?

Thanks GAOYUE.
Now I see right view of turret roof. Good job!
I hope other details will be improved too. Wich true for late 80's BMP-3 version (early).
